Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

No issues for me except still waiting for Verizon to "certify" C-band for my P6P.

Can't wait for the S22 to come out and watch their forums and see all the usual "poor reception, display issues, misbehaving apps and slow updates" that I see with every newly released device.

If the rumours are true, I doubt we'll see much of that, because the S22 will be 95% S21.

It'll all be complaints about how they didn't bring back micro SD or MST and reduced the specs of the ultra.

Oh Samsung's come a long way since TouchWiz. Their software is actually pretty great. So much so that I kinda can't believe there was mention of such a thing. I figured we had all moved on.

Samsung have gotten considerably better over the last year or two... Is there something specific that bothers you? I'm happy to check if it can now be uninstalled or is even there at all.

Also, to be devils advocate, "bloat" is quite subjective... Say you have your pixel, but you prefer outlook and textra... What are Gmail and messages? Bloat that can't be uninstalled?

I dont consider them bloat and like having both options , but Bixby and Samsung version of google feed are 2 things i disable right away.

Me as well. I disconnected my S21U and tried it once since the P6P. The s-pen being in the phone is kind of nice this year in the S22U. Samsung is fine, Pixel is fine. I still have my S21U and will more than likely use it as trade-in but we will see how much actual use it iwll receive.

This phone will be the same as all phones. The S21U thread was the same, always is. No one is ever happy or satisfied anymore except the handful of folks that say I am not having any of those issues.

I mean, yes and no..

There are a lot of people who can't afford $600 outright who can afford $25 a month for 24 months.

The vast majority of people who have a mortgage couldn't afford a house outright, either.

Many do not finance a phone (or truck, car, anything). I cannot remember the last time I financed a phone. Don't plan on starting.

I'll be getting a S22U; however, I really wish I was getting a P6P, but I hate problems and even if most are not having problems, I don't want to be that person who has problems, especially with reception and has to return the phone.

I might be back in a year for a P7P. Maybe not.

But as someone mentioned a few days back,one thing IS true, and that is the S22U will be more expensive than the P6, but sure you are expecting that.

No phone is perfect but never had issues like this with my other phones. I can deal with clearing Data in apps but not data cutting in & out.

No phone will be trouble free, just like no truck, no TV, etc. Anything made by man or woman can have problems.

The reception issues of the P6 for some people is my biggest concern. Granted those with problems might be in low signal areas, but I am in a low signal area; that I know for a fact! Cameras are not a big feature for me, and from what I have seen the P6 cameras are a lot better then my 4XL; but I don't use them enough to care. The display looks great, the phone is the best looking phone on the market but looks and cameras don't make phone calls.

Therefore, I am going to the model with what is most likely the best modem made for USA. There is NO doubt, the Exynos modem used on the P6 phones has never been used in the USA before. And Google, over time, may get those adjusted with software updates, but no guarantee that can become a reality, as there is no guarantee with any phone. (And it appears the forthcoming Feb Update for Pixel phones includes another "Phone Bug Fixes for device connectivity." Does that relate to the P6? But only Pixel I read about having connectivity problems. And if yes, that is a good thing.)

And of course I expect the price to be higher! If the latest 'rumors' are correct and the S22 retains the same pricing structure as the S21 series it will be $250 more for the S22U (256gb) than for a Pixel 6 Pro (256gb) model. ($1249.99 vs. $999.99.)

Even if it is $100.00 more, it sure will not send me to the poor house. (I spend more than that on air freshners for the house due to the constant negative zero weather and two older Malamutes that have more gas than there is snow outside.)

Not looking to replace my P6P but I've considered maybe getting one of the S22 models just because. The S22U is the new Note, which I know has a lot of people excited. . For me, I'm not looking for a device that comes with a pen. The Plus isn't really a direct upgrade from the S21U, and no way I'm paying $1100 for it. If I want a Samsung, I'm more inclined to get a S21U when the price drops.

VZ just went to a 36 month finance for all products it looks like. No option for 24 or 30.

Just because they can't afford to pay 600 - 1000 up front at once doesn't mean they can't afford it. Working it into a monthly budget still means it's affordable.

Yep a $32 payment every month is easier. Plus its 0 APR so your not being penalized paying 24 and even 36 months.

After the January update, a lot of the problems I had with my P6P have been resolved.

But I will be getting the next Samsung Fold.

I always consider my financed phone as part of my monthly budget. I'm ok with it. For the first time in a while, I'm very satisfied with my S21 Ultra and don't see the need to upgrade. In fact, I'm looking to get a Tab S7 soon and will most likely be financing it as well. Or maybe I'll pay it all up front so I don't have to worry about it every month. I am still trying to justify having one. $500 on a secondary device is a tough pill to swallow. But I really want one. I'm just not sure if I need one. I can also see a tablet lasting for much longer than my phone.
