Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

Super happy with my very first Pixel luckily I haven't come across any issues that others might have. I would never spend a dime on Samsung anymore not because they're not good. It's mostly because they're overpriced. My last Samsung was a Samsung note 4 great phones and you used to be able to replace the battery but after that, their price started to go up drastically to the point where unless you get like a contract with the carrier there's no way anyone could afford buying it outright. Pixel is not perfect nor is Samsung or Apple people need to realize that yes there are some problems but that can be fixed over time. But you can't fix overpriced phones, companies are getting greedier and greedier consumers are the ones that suffer in the end. I would like to say hopefully Google will continue to improve but year after year they always have issues with their phones. If Google wants to be recognized as a competitor against Samsung and Apple they need to focus on Quality controls on both hardware and software. Here's hoping!

I didn't experience major problems pre-January so I didn't notice a whole lot of change post-January update. I came from an S21+. The thing that tempts me toward the S22 Ultra is the pen. I had a Note and it was very handy. I mean, it's a little awkward to use as a lefty, but it still offers a function that no other phone offers. Both Samsung's and Google's phones are really good in my mind.

A pen on its own isn't enough to make me jump ship on S22 launch day. Maybe when the price drops in 6 months. That's when I bought the S21+. However, if the Pixel 6 Pro continues on an upward trajectory, I may instead wait for the Pixel 7. It will come down to how strong the phone-nerd force is in me (and my wallet).

The reception on my P6 is not nearly as good as on my zflip 3. My local stop&shop is a notoriously bad area. Only certain spots in the store and parking lot gets any reception (Verizon) The other day my P6 couldn't get a signal anywhere. "No network" Had my z flip with me and switched sims. The z flip had bars and LTE in all the right spots. So even as my primary backup phone. I'm getting close to selling it.

Yeah. My 6 Pro reception improved with the January update but I still get call cut outs every now and then and reception is choppy and it's hard to hear people on the phone/it's hard for them to hear me. When I use my partner's phone (iPhone) no issues at all.

Maybe this phone is just more trouble than its worth.

Since I stuck with my Pixel 5 all this 6/6P drama has missed me. So since its running perfectly, 10/10, I'm standing pat with my Pixel 5.

How are people able to trade in every year when they are still paying on a phone? My S21 Ultra has been a fantastic phone this past year. I got it near launch day and this is the first time in a long time I haven't felt the need or desire to get the newest flagship. Plus I still owe $800 on it since I financed it for 30 months. I know I wouldn't be able to sell it for that amount on Swappa, even if I wanted to. That's what I did with my two previous phones.

My two previous phones were the iPhone 12 pro and Pixel 4xl. I got bored with both of those phones. Google's Pixel UI is just bland and boring to me. Just my opinion. Samsung offers the right amount of customization to keep me satisfied. Plus I find myself customizing less and less these days once I setup my phone to look a certain way. I keep all my apps and widgets in the same place for a long time and rarely care to move them. I also like the good amount of settings and using Bixby routines is nice to have. It's much like tasker or IFTTT.

I can understand if some of you are having issues with your Pixels. Samsung just checks all the boxes for me. If you do get an S22, you won't be disappointed. I'm actually looking into getting a Tab S7 so I can consume content on a bigger screen and do some stuff with the S pen.

I will admit that Google gestures on Samsung still don't work right on third party launchers. I just went back to the 3 button nav bar. I still use the swipe from the right or left to go back. But the nav bar is consistent and works every time. Plus I can move and change the buttons to whatever I want.

Pay it off. Paid off my S20 FE and traded it in for a Pixel 6 via T-Mobile. Needed a better camera to take pictures of our 2 year old. Had the money at the time to pay it off.

I honestly don't refer to Samsung's apps as bloatware anymore. I have tried the Samsung launcher and I keep going back to Nova. Samsung Pass saves all my passwords across the whole phone and every app so I don't need something like Last Pass. It fills in any gaps that Google leaves behind with its Password Manager.

I will say that iOS is a smooth os. But it's not intuitive at all and it would take me several years to learn how to best use it efficiently. And I don't want to be locked into using iOS. With android, there are choices and options with which phone experience you want to have. I'm thankful that I have tried all of them except Sony. I gave Samsung a second chance after my S9 would overheat and get terrible battery life.

If you can break even. But I'm not paying $1249 in one year of owning a phone. The only way I did it in the past is if I could make a small profit from selling it or if the phone I had was unreliable or had some major bugs with it. I have usually been unhappy with a phone and had money from a tax return to pay it off and then sell it. I think those days are over for me as I am pretty satisfied with the S21 Ultra.

Many do not finance a phone (or truck, car, anything). I cannot remember the last time I financed a phone. Don't plan on starting.

I'll be getting a S22U; however, I really wish I was getting a P6P, but I hate problems and even if most are not having problems, I don't want to be that person who has problems, especially with reception and has to return the phone.

I might be back in a year for a P7P. Maybe not.

I'm very happy with my 5a. Astonishing battery life, great photos, rear FP sensor, right size. No drama. I will look at the P7 when it comes out but if it doesn't have stellar battery life or else some breakthrough software feature, I'll hold on to my 5a.

I dont consider them bloat and like having both options , but Bixby and Samsung version of google feed are 2 things i disable right away.

No issues w my P6Pro here so I'll be staying.

No issues for me except still waiting for Verizon to "certify" C-band for my P6P.

Can't wait for the S22 to come out and watch their forums and see all the usual "poor reception, display issues, misbehaving apps and slow updates" that I see with every newly released device.
