Fi helping cutting landline?

We are a 2 person household with 1 landline, 1 smartphone with unlimited data and 1 (dumb) phone. The phones have a 550 minutes shared family plan.

Wished for end position:
No landline, 1 Project Fi Nexus 6 (already in hand) and 1 (cheap) phone to run Hangouts in order to use the Nexus 6 calling and texting. Incoming calls should ring on both phones as well as computers.

Is this feasible, practical and desired.

Assuming you have pretty-reliable internet service and a strong WiFi signal throughout the house, and preferably (for now) a decently strong T-Mobile signal at the house, then yes, Fi could help you "cut the cord".

Understand, however, that Project Fi is named that way because Google still considers it an [invitation-only] "Early Access Program" - and from the number of teething problems Google is currently debugging it's definitely, as far as I'm concerned, not a "production-ready", "just put the SIM in and you're good to go" cell carrier plan - for now, you will be a beta tester like the rest of us ....
