So I recently bought a prepaid LTE micro sim card and the thing is, my phone can't detect LTE. When I go to Settings>Mobile Data>Network Mode, the only options presented are WCDMA only, GSM only, and GSM/WCDMA auto. But when I type in the *#*#4636#*#* code in my phone I'm presented with the following image:

So does my phone have LTE capability or it's just that my country's LTE bands aren't supported by my phone?

HTC One, Android 4.2.2

I just did that but my phone went back to GSM/WCDMA auto. Strange.

your network screen looks different.

it should look like so.

and i am in an area without LTE and i still get the option to select it. might be that pre-paid sims block this option?

Sorry, I forgot to mention, that's not my network screen. The picture I posted was the options I got when I dialed *#*#*4636#*#* in my phone. My network screen does look like yours but the fourth option, "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" isn't there.

afaik all htc one versions ship with LTE... i havent got a clue sorry but it might be a good idea to update your OP with your HTC ONE edition and android version so that someone with more knowledge than me can help you.

edit: and your area as well.

edit 2: my country does not yet support LTE either. i still get the option though.
