Cannot download MMS from iPhone users

Hello. I own an HTC One M8. I receive SMS messages fine from iPhone users. However, MMS messages will not download.

Invariably, every person I've found while scouring Google that has this problem has previously owned an iPhone. I have not.

I repeat - ***I have never owned an iPhone and have never used iMessage.***

Yet, the problem persists. Any of you gurus have any ideas? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Few questions:
1) Is the number 'used'? Maybe you haven't used an iPhone, but if the number was linked to one in the past, it MIGHT be interfering.
2) Can you receive MMS from any other phone? Just trying to make sure you're actually set up to receive MMS (most phones can get SMS right out of the box but some carriers require special configuration for MMS, especially if your phone is unlocked or bought somewhere else).
