How to shoot with the monochrome sensor?

It is my understanding (perhaps wrongly) that one of the sensors is a monochrome sensor. I'd love to shoot some black and white shots. How do I make sure I'm using the BW sensor?

Kinda cool, I didn't even know it had that, I thing I will dig it out and do some shooting!

It works really well! I just took a couple of quick snaps of the kids in high contrast situations where B&W excels. Was excellent.
