Why does my Verizon LG G4 Email display different after the update?

Verizon LG G4 Email display different after update

Prior to the update the email display contained a select box with each message that could be checked to delete or mark as read. Now the box is gone and I have to go to Settings>Select to see the boxes, but they disappear after I have pressed delete or mark as read.

How can have the boxes present all the time as I did before?

I noticed this too and haven't found anything either to change it to the old way. I can't even uninstall updates on the app to roll it back. I think we're stuck with it like this. You can still swipe emails to the left to delete them from the list view, but either way still adds a step or two and takes longer for batch operations like deleting.

on stock LG Email app "Long press" any messg & check boxes will appear on all messgs. The options will show at top. I don't think Gmail changed
