Why does the time keep flashing when the phone is locked?

why does the time keep flashing when phone is locked?

Just bought a moto g 3rd gen. When the screen is locked the time flahes on the screen every 15-30 seconds. Can anyone help me?

Sounds like Moto Display is on. It will flash the time, and any notifications, when either the phone is moved (and not in your pocket) or when a new notification is displayed. It is not timer based though, so the 15-30 seconds sounds a bit weird. You can adjust under "Settings" > "Display" > "Screen Notifications", or directly through the Moto app, under "Display" .
