Another odd find.

In 2.1 I could hit the rocker "down" button and turn the ringer volume all the way down, then to vibrate, then "off".

In Froyo, the lowest I can go is "Vibrate". Is there a quick and easy way to turn off the ringer completely?

yep hate it hate it hate it hate it.. my workaround is using:

Silent Toggle Widget by Droidmania

I found this on early version of rooted Froyos before the final official build. I thought this was a bug but after going to the stock Froyo it was the same. pissed me off alot.

There is an app in the Market called AudioManager console. It has a widget or you can put it in the notification bar. It will adjust all you volume settings. Works great. Was free when I got it but it MIGHT be paid now, not sure.

UPDATE: just checked and discovered that vibrate is permanently auto-checked in audiomanger console now. It is still a convenient way to adjust volume settings but not a fix for vibrate being the lowest call setting in 2.2.

If you go into sound settings, you can change preferences for Vibrate. I have mine set to "Never" since I don't use vibrate.

Now...when I use the lock screen slider, it goes completely silent.
