samsung (galaxy i think) J3 - updating issue - internet usage

Hi all, modern phones .....
I look at phone in the mornings an get messages - 5 or 7 or 14 updates available or have downloaded awaiting my final acceptance to say yes - update.

I there any way on the phone to TURN OFF all update searching, i have tried looking at individual app pages settings, but want to stop them, you will prob think this is daft, but the phone is more than adequate for me, and updates will only eat into space on the phone etc.

So any help in turning off will be very helpfull

Go to play store...settings... auto update apps.... toggle off

If you have the Galaxy Apps Store app as well, there should be a setting there to turn off auto-updates, too.
