Samsung Note 4 Defective USB Driver

I have a problem with my Samsung Note 4 device (Verizon Version). When I plug it into my Windows PC, the USB mode doesn't work. It shows a blank where the hard drive should show up on my USB and it is on MTP mode. The phone has the latest OS updates. I found a working driver online with Samsung USB Driver v1.5.61.0 which isn't the newest version but works allowing me to access the phone drive using usb on my pc. But when I unplug and replug my Samsung Note, it overwrites that driver with the defective driver every time because of it's auto-install. That means having to reinstall Samsung USB Driver v1.5.61.0 every single time I want to access my phone's hard drive on my pc for transferring photos, videos, etc to my PC.

I haven't had this issue with a Samsung Note 8 device so I don't think that the problem is my PC.

Try different cable ? Also see if another computer if any issues.

I've tried multiple USB cables and the problem occurs on different computers.

You have failing hardware then , you have to make decisions if it's worth fixing on such a older device.
