Galaxy s3 Calendar - Reminders always show up

Hi there,

I have tried turning off reminders on the Calendar app, but even if I click the "X" by Reminders when I create the event, and even though in my settings I have unchecked the box for notifications AND set the default reminder time to "None" - I ALWAYS GET REMINDERS. What is going on? The event at first has none set, then when I check back later, it has Notification and Email reminders set and I can click the "X"s for each... but why do they suddenly appear, later on? Most of the time I forget, then my phone goes off when I really don't want it to, blowing up with notifications. Is there a way to get rid of these obnoxious reminders for good? What am I doing wrong?
