Why won't my s5 charge when its on???

[AC Question]

So last Wednesday, my s5 stopped changing. It will not charge when its on but will charge for half a second when its off. Its will show the lightning bolt charging symbol for half a second, goes away, and then comes back. This repeats over and over again and I can't find a solution.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen with other charging cables and wall plugs? If so, then check the microUSB port for debris--use a can of compressed air to blow it out. If the problem persists even if the port is clean, then it's probably a faulty port, which needs to be replaced.
