Recently updated to KitKat and now my email won't sync, what should I do?

Recently updated to KitKat and now my email won't sync

I tried going to settings>data usage>settings auto sync is checked. I then tried another suggestion: delete my email account and re-add, now the blasted thing says it can't authenticate my account, any suggestions from here other than to get the S6 Edge?

Ummm...you upgraded to KitKat? What phone are you using? Is this a Gmail account? KitKat has been out for over a year now??? Too many questions and not enough answers.
