Google Assistant Not Working

When I say "Ok, Google" it will work, but only on the first time that day (since a restart, which I do every morning). And it works perfectly. But after that, it doesn't work at all. I can say "Ok, Google" all day long and nothing. Worse yet, when I manually open the Google app and tap the microphone, it doesn't understand me at all. It will get MAYBE one word right out of 4 or 5. Very frustrating.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried to make it relearn your voice? I only reboot every week or so, see no reason to do it daily.

No, but that can't be it. It works the first time after a restart. After that, saying "ok, Google" is like asking my kids to clean up their room. Nothing. And then when it does "hear" me, it hears me grossly incorrectly, while on the first use it's perfect.

I stream music literally all day at work, so I find the daily restart to be helpful - never found it harmful, anyway. Unless......
