unlocked s8 from the Big Four, who updates Android?

Am new to this GMS cards and such.
Have been with Sprint for 14 years, and finally am fed up with them. Every time I switch devices, they screw up my three line phone plans.

Now, I got on ebay a Verizon and a T-mobile S8 plus, both unlocked. I am going to use MintSim for my carrier.

Question then... Will each phone still receive Android Updates from Verizon and T-mobile? Let's say Verizon and T-mobile comes out with Android 8... Will they still be pushed onto each device?

Will I be able to get the newest version of the OS? i.e. when there is a critical update?

With Sprint units, I never had to worry about these.

I believe that carrier-specific phones need to be on that carrier's network to receive the official update OTA. You could try using Smart Switch, but I think this also requires the phone to be on the correct network.

Call Samsung and ask them. They are not the globally unlocked versions so you might not be able to get updates. Seeing as how each carrier modifies the firmware for thier network and carrier specific apps.
