So we think they will roll this out in pieces again??? Sorry if this has been said already...
If you were a blackberry user (Which it seems you weren't) you would know that Verizon reps are just drones. They know nothing about software update release dates. I'm sure if you asked every rep at every store then called verizon support and asked them you would get thousands of different answers.
All information you get from Verizon reps about this type of thing is pure speculation until the BIG red of Verizon actually officially releases a date.
Folks...
Salespeople won't know about release dates unless it has already leaked. They didn't know how to spell DROID until the launch kits came out. As a tech, I can say as of today in the eastern part of the country, there is no word about a drop yet. 2.0.1 was published internally weeks before it came out (about Mid-November for a December 11th release). The only mention of this 'latest' update I have seen with any level of detail is what I have been reading on some websites. As far as a timeframe goes, it will probably be announced a few days to a week before it hits, and some schmuck will risk his/her job to leak it to some forum so they can have the internal 'pride' of being in the know on the Internet. Add a name tag and paper hat to that, and you get job satisfaction. Me, just rather fix phones and educate folks.
BY pieces I mean like ten thousand at first then wait two days then roll out two hundo a day?
Uh, that's December 22nd? Isn't that about 3 weeks ago?
I believe he made a typo...I'm going to guess he meant January 22nd. whohoo updates!
Correct, January.
So, my optimistic guess is that by the middle of next week, most of us will be manually updating to 2.1...anyone with me?! hahaha![]()
