16G vs 8G

For $50 more its a no brainer.

I agree. Plus, I'm not always around wifi. I got the 16GB so I could slap some movies on there and have a number of books downloaded to it for when I want to use it without wifi, and still not have to worry about running out of room for apps.

Streaming movies and music is great...but it's not always an option. So I always opt for the larger storage capacity (which is why I almost left AT&T over the 16GB-only SGS III...lucky for them Verizon made it too expensive to switch for one phone).

I got the 16 because I have had buyers remorse in the past for not going with a bigger model. And when I fly, Netflix and Google music isn't available or is to slow on the planes WiFi so I want to be able to park few movies and a couple of hours of music. Don't need my entire library tho, 16 gig wouldn't be enough.

Because plenty of people go places in which they don't have access to the internet.

I'm not one of them, so I bought the 8GB. But it seems like there are fanboys on each side of this debate who are so arrogant that they aren't able to see the simple and logical reasons that the other side may have for making their choice.

There are storage fanboys?

Yes, or would the word "zealot" be more accurate?

It's the people who say that their choice is the only correct one while acting like anything else is just stupid and ignore the reasons why other people would make a different choice.

There were only 3 devices left at Sam's Club, all 16GB. I wanted 16 anyway, travel often and for long periods to Mexico.

Due to the lack of expandable internal storage I went with the 16. Besides, who has ever sat around and thought, "Gee, I wish I didn't have all this extra room on my device." Even at $250.00 this tablet is a steal.

Many of us would say that. I've done it before. I still say "Gee, I wish I would have saved that $100 on my PS3 because after 3 years I still haven't used that extra 40Gb's I paid for".

As you can see from this thread, there are plenty of people who would rather have the $50 than the extra space.

True, they wouldn't have made it if there wasn't a market.

For those who use "the cloud" 8gb will probably always be enough (although I remember a time that a 500mb hard drive would probably always be enough, lol darn technology). I needed the space for Copilot Navigation maps, and I also use my device while flying for charts and the like. I only have 5.5gb left on my device.

Unlike some, I don't think that everyone who didn't get the 16 is stupid, they just don't use their tablet in the manner I use mine.
