1st 48 Hours with my 128GB 4XL

I am less than 24 hours in with my 4 XL, but surprisingly have some performance issues. Google Play Store has been horrible. It is slow, freezes, updates stall and it just does not work very well. An app called Android System WebView stalls while updating over and over. I tried clearing cache, etc. but it still works poorly. Some other apps stutter and the gestures, while working okay, are not very smooth.

Battery life is not as good as the other phones I have been using, but it is early. I will have to see how that goes.

It feels as if it needs the old-fashion wipe cache partition.

As others have mentioned, most apps do not work with facial recognition. Hopefully, they will get on board.

Otherwise, it has been good. The jury is still out on whether I will keep it, or not.

I wouldn't wait very long before I would be calling whomever you got it from

Hate to have problems with a brand new phone.

I don't know why, but the same thing happened to me the first day I had my Note 10+. Apps refused or took forever to download, laggy interface, etc. It automatically fixed itself though. I'd give it a few days to see if it works itself out before returning.

So what you're telling me is Samsung's aren't perfect?

There will be more app developers getting on board with the face unlock.
It's not going to happen all at once though.
So far I'm happy with my pixel 4XL.
I knew what phone I wanted way before I purchased it.
Get what phone makes you happy ,you are the only one who really knows what you're wanting out of a phone.
No regrets here
:)

How many people do you hear that their phones got hacked.
Most of the movie stars that got hacked phones had iphones.

If google thought there was a problem.
They would push out a security update.

Not a software update.

Pie has nothing to do with it.

Lol man I sure miss windows 98, I’d gladly still be running that, it was so stable! Who needs updates

You realize Google pushes out monthly security updates to all Pixel phones for 3 years right?

That's why I'm still with my Pixel 2 with the Pixel 4 camera. If they want my money, they'll have to come up with better hardware.

I've been toying with the idea of staying with my P2 for another year, but want the camera. So ... how did you get the P4 camera????

Yeah, I really do not want to do that.

Play Store is in the process of being revamped. For the past several weeks I have been having the same issues even on my original pixel with stalled updates etc

You caved huh..

Yeah, as soon as I learned that LastPass supported Face unlock I was in......

What I’ve gleamed from this thread so far:

As consumers, we have a variety of choices when it comes to which smartphone we buy.

Apparently, that is not a good thing because you have to ask permission on a public forum which is better.

Interesting.
