I am on stock 2.1. I have gotten all previous official updates without issue. Each time I download the official 2.2, it starts to install, reboots about 1/2 way through then fails with the message: "UPDATE FAILED or INCOMPLETE.reason: IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED".

I have re-downloaded several times (4 now). Battery pulled a few times before re-trying, each time the same result. Any ideas on what I might try to get this to take?

If you've debloated it'll block the update. Swype beta may be the problem but it shouldn't be. If so, uninstall it, and reinstall after if you're an official beta member then it won't matter.

Completely stock? No custom kernels, CWM, nothing changed at all?

There are only a few people who are not having success. The majority of members posting are reporting successful upgrades.

then i retract my possible issue....and with that, im gonna go find something to break mine with :-P

I double checked what I unbloated before, removed root, put the original swype back, did a hard reset and still failed. I've only had the stock roms. I gave up and just flashed back to DL01. It took the update to EA28 fine and now I'm trying ED01 again. Hope it works this time.

It did work!

I got my up date at 9:30 eastern last night. It took 15-20 minutes to down load and the 10 minutes for the reboot. Love it!

@Kevin/DroidXcon, has anyone ran a log cat yet to try and grab the OTA update download link to get the manual update.zip?

That is how we got a hold of it for the Epic 4g when it rolled out...

Same issue here on my wife's fascinate. She's not rooted or anything like that.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?

I am having the same problem and error notice as as well. My phone is not rooted, all other updates have been succesfull and I am on my 5th attepmt to download. This time I went into Launcher Pro and unhid the apps that I had hidden, if that doesn't work then it may be time to venture into VZW Tech Hades :(

I am rooted an having this same problem. Have tried about 7 times now.
