You might need to be 100% stock to work: no root, etc.

Worked for me. after I did the force quit I waited like two minutes, then checked for the update and it was there. first try

Worked immediately after I cleared data. No change in signal strength, still 98DB. If it gives data drops though, I'm thrilled

Wow! I tried this last night for a while with no luck. Then this morning I check for an update with no luck then I tried this trick. On the third try I got this on my screen:

I just got mine. I tried this method last night but I don't think it was working and I think that is was a coincidence that it happened last night. I already see the signal bars are higher than they were before I applied it.here's hoping for no more signal issues cause this is the sweetest phone.

Been trying for the past two hours...
For the people who've had success, do you continuously hit the "Check now" button after the initial process? Or do you completely start over after it failed?

You have to do the whole process each time. Everytime you hit "check now" you want the date to be 12/31/1969.

I used a slightly different method. I turned on airplane mode, then enabled wifi, hit check for update and it downloaded immediately.

Tried it last night and it didn't work. Tried your method and it worked immediately. Thank you!
