3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4

Worked on first try!

Checked for update, nothing. Rebooted then checked again, nothing. Cleared data/force stopped the app then backed out of the screen and my phone immediately notified me that I have an update available (didn't even have to check!).

Some details (doubt it makes a difference) :
-Bought phone end of March
-Location=South Jersey
-Updated over Wifi
-Was rooted but temporarily unrooted using RootKeeper
-Stock ICS

I don't notice any significant changes. Camera may be a touch slower like OP said. Wifi signal indicator is weaker. Speedtested wifi and my download speeds were significantly slower and sporadic. I "forgot" my router and re-added it and all is well.

Update: Argh!!! 4G download speeds at my house are now about half what they used to be and upload speeds are even worse! If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If your phone was working fine on 4.0.2 I would recommend you NOT update at this time.

I still haven't got it, but I did notice ever since I did this method I stopped receiving my email from Gmail. So add that to the signing you out of GTalk.

Ended up clearing the data 3 times before I did a force stop and "checked". The phone just finished rebooted after the 4.0.4 install.

As others have said, thank you for this tip!

For all the time and clicking you all are ding why not just install the leak that's already out? Could have unlocked and rooted and been enjoying this for weeks now.

I did this like 20 times last night and it didn't work. But then I randomly looked at my phone at around 4:30am, and the pop-up window was there waiting for me. Either this method had some sort of delayed effect, or it was just coincidence. But either way, I'm now on 4.0.4

I've been reading conflicting reports about this so I thought I'd ask; has anyone been able to receive the 4.0.4 OTA and successfully install it onto a Galaxy Nexus with an unlocked bootloader while also rooted?

Nothing last night, tried 10+ times.

Went to about phone & checked for update this morning, nothing.

Did the clear/stop routine one more time, immediately had the update.

Same for me. I tried over 10 times yesterday and got nothing. Tried again this morning and got it on second try.

I attached some screenshots for the nonbelievers

Tried this a bunch yesterday and about 5 times this morning. WIFI was off for all of my previous attempts. I turned WIFI on and tried one more time and it worked immediately. Not sure if its already been discussed throughout the ten pages of this thread, but this might be the key folks! The whole reason it takes time for VZW to roll it out to everyone is they don't want their network bogged down, right? Well, if you do it over WIFI there might not be any holdup. Hope it helps.

Hey look at that.... It worked!

I had tried several times last night with no luck. 1st try this morning and it downloaded. Cool!

Now to see if anything is different....

Just an update. I received the OTA on a stock, rooted, unlocked GNex. It downloaded but failed to install. I unrooted following that, and the update began again and worked that time. My bootloader remains unlocked.

I've gotten the OTA but it will not install on my phone. I keep getting the red belly. Unlocked and rooted. Someone out there able to help.

Awesome! thanks for posting this. Been itching to get 4.04 for weeks being on stock and not rooted this was killing me. Thanks again.
