Hello, I was just wondering if anyone on this forum lives in the Buffalo,NY region and has noticed 4G LTE service yet in the area? I am just wondering because 4G is supposed to be active here on October 20, 2011 but I have not noticed anything yet on my Thunderbolt, and from reading other threads it seems as other areas have service a few days before the actual date. Just wanted to check because I have never seen 4G on my phone before and with all the complaints that some Thunderbolts have problems with 4G and data connections my curiosity started.. Thanks so much!!

I don't live in Buffalo but I'm there on business once or twice a week. There is no 4G in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse yes. 4G stops about 40 miles east of Buffalo at this point.

getting 4G near the Buffalo airport today but it's only doing 2mb down and 3.5 up.

Did you ever do the battery-saving trick of changing your phone to "CDMA Auto (PRL)" (either using the special code to dial or using the app "LTE On/Off" ??? If you did, you've disabled LTE and you'll need to set that back to "CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto".

The other thing to try is a battery/SIM pull. Pull the battery. Remove the SIM. Wait at least 5 minutes. Put both back in and restart the phone. If that doesn't work and you're pretty sure you are in a 4G coverage area, you may have something wrong with your radio or SIM.

Thanks everyone.. I am set correctly for 4g..I am at my parents in Cheektowaga and 4g seems fine..but at my house near Broadway and Transit no 4g, weird because I had the district public relations manager for verizon drive by my house and he said he was getting 4g on his Thunderbolt, and went into the corporate store on Walden and they said coverage extends into Lancaster.. guess 4G just is not working in Depew :(

The only place I found I didn't get 4g yesterday was when I went into amherst. Will be exploring more today.

My husband and I moved from a small town in Tennessee that DID have 4G to a "big city" (Buffalo) that didn't have 4G this past August so you can imagine how bummed I was and then how excited I was when I found out that we'd be getting 4G.

Except we live in Lockport. And even though the original press release specifically mentions Lockport and "a small portion of Niagara County" - I do not have 4G. I read something that said they would be trying to expand it further over the coming months so I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed. Bummer.

No or very limited 4g in Elmwood Ave/198 area, sometimes I will get a faint 4g signal but most of the time the phone stays in 3g mode.

I have the bionic, my phone jumps from 1-2 bars of 4g if that to 3g all day. Most areas all i get is a 3g signal. Seneca creek at borden rd 3G only. 190 at 198 3g only. hsbc arena at sabres game yesterdays oct 27 at 4 bars 4g during 1st period. During 2nd period phone is on 3g. I have been all over their alleged 4g coverage and the phone jumps all over. The 4g coverage sucks and is not constitent or reliable at all. Verizon tech support and motorola tech support report no erros. The walden and union store on 10-27 reported to me they had a meeting and our working ou bugs in the system still and hope to have it fixed by the end of the month/week. They better get this fixed. I spent $300 on a bionic and $200 a month for service and am not happy at all.Everytime my phone jumps from 4g to 3g it takes forever to regain its connection.
