So your GSAM on the Maxx/Turbo would've read 6-7 hours on average SOT? I spend hours a day on the phone so my SOT is not as high, but overall I end up with more battery life at the end of the day with this phone than I topically did with the T1. The Maxx was a little better, but not drastically.
At this point I think part of it is just perception based on differences in the way the battery stats are interpreted by each device. On the original Maxx, the first 50% would seem endless but once below 50%, it would discharge much faster. This could lead to the perception early on in a given day that it would last much longer than it actually will. And with the T1, a bit of the same, once it got to 30% or so, I noticed a much faster decline. On the T2 it seems to discharge more consistently all the way down to zero, and in particular the last 30% really seems to hold. This will lead to the perception at an earlier point in the day that you're set up to run out sooner than you would've with the Maxx/T1, but in reality when you look at the averages, I find that it's actually very comparable, and better than the T1 by a little bit.
In other words, I think a lot of us here are really subjectively comparing this phone to two completely separate phones, and disparaging the SOT (As in gaming it complete trash) capabilities for 5 hours average is kind of ridiculous. I'm not sure what a lot of these other phones with 2800MAH or 3000MAH batteries get, but how many extra hours does an additional 800-1000MAH capacity really buy you? All I know is that all my friends and cohorts continue to run to their chargers half way through the day and I've never done so once with this phone no matter what I throw at it.
