No offense but I bet the IRS, Sony, T-Mobile, Target, and Home Depot had that handled as well... then they were all hacked.

No problem. I am sure someone else will chime in and tell you the exact opposite though. That seems to be the way it is. I think the apps you install and what you are doing on your phone play the biggest role in battery life. That's why some get great battery life and others don't.

Ok... my location is draining my battery so fast. How fast you ask? It's draining it so fast, it made an iPhone seem like it had a battery! I know... that was bad. Plus I'm kidding! :)

Agreed, google needs a backup process for data. Helium does work but not for all apps.

The absolute RAGE in losing all your app data anytime you want to reset your phone >:-O. Gosh forbid that you're any type of mobile gamer, especially of the platforming/rpg type. It's 2016 Google! WTH?!

I'm not worried. Lastpass thought of that. Google about it and it's explained better than I can ever explain it here.

Not to go OT on this, but since this was mentioned here....

I was a LastPass user from when they first entered the market. I've used password safes on mobile devices since the 90's. I believe in them and happily moved to the Cloud option, but being careful not to put ANY seriously important financial account in LastPass.

Then LastPass was hacked. Later that same week, my employer was hacked. I work for the Federal Government. As of now, just about everything about me as a person (and over 25 million current and past Federal workers) is in the hands of Chinese hackers. We'll never get that info back.

Was I affected by this? Yes. I went to the other place that held other information about be that was just hacked - LastPass - and immediately deleted my info, and closed my account.

LassPass was purchased by LogMeIn in Oct of last year. Given LogMeIn's history, I am not sure this will make everyone feel safer.

I am glad I am out of there, and using a far safer way to manage my account passwords.

What is your much safer way of managing your account passwords? I was considering Last Pass.

I use Safe In Cloud myself. Mainly because it gives me the option of which cloud storage solution to use. If you have your own hosted cloud storage (which is probably least likely to ever be hacked) that supports WebDAV, you can use that as well.

If there's significant interest in this, we should probably start another thread.

But if it stops here, I'll just add that everything about password safes, encryption, hacking and the like, seems to be a matter of opinion. Go ask Apple and the FBI. :)

For me, I went totally old-school, non-mobile, less convenient, but better than having it all on paper which has it's own boatload of drawbacks. I use KeePass.

Has anyone else's battery become terrible after the MM update? I could easy make it through a full day on lollipop but I'm at like 25% and on the charger by about 4pm.

My battery life has been the same at a minimum, and honestly I think a little better than before. However, my data point is probably not directly comparable. I was having an issue with my phone losing connectivity and had to exchange it for a brand new one. When I got the new phone, I upgraded to MM before loading anything so it went on to a clean phone.

I'm having an issue with wifi. Pocketcasts downloads just fine over wifi, but Google Photos and apps won't update or sync over wifi. Anyone know a fix for this? I forgot my network, and rejoined it, but I still have this issue everywhere, unless I do it over my cellular connection.

I had a very similar issue. Resetting my modem/router solved the issue. I have no idea why but it worked for me.

I can't use my WIFI and bluetooth at the same time, sucks I've been turning bluetooth off and on. I'm about to call Verizon for help.

I have the same problem, but it only seems to happen on my home wifi.
It is so slow or won't connect, until I turn off bluetooth and then the page it is trying to display instantly appears.

I have not done a reset.

I am going to Best Buy today to talk to the Samsung rep.

It almost sounds as if the Note 5 when connected to a Bluetooth device thinks that the device is a network connection and tries to use that as it's access point and network, rather than the WiFi or Mobile networks.

Update: I tried earlier this afternoon with a Bluetooth device connected and while on my home WiFi and Mobile networks. Was able to access several local news sites without problem. Will be interesting to see what the issue ends up being.

I've had numerous phones with the need to install a new os. This is the first time I did not have to immediately do a factory reset.

I'll get around to a hard reset eventually as I believe that there are always advantages to doing so. But I can wait for awhile.

This might be my imagination but I believe the new os has vastly improved the "ok Google" function. Now when my screen is off I say the magic mantra and the device springs to life. Never did that before. Viva Samsung and Google.
