Ok.. I know i saw a comprohensive "Updated from Froyo to GB: For Dummies" forum around somewhere (no offense, it can be a difficult thing to explain), but i can't find it so ill guide you.

First, DOWNLOAD THIS.

Rename it PG05IMG and place it in the root of your SD Card in your Thunderbolt. By root I mean on your SD card but not in any folders. Just on your SD Card.

Download my ROM (or any GB ROM) and Move that as well to the root of your SD Card.

Boot into Recovery (using ROM Manager is easiest). Go to install from SD Card (third option down if im not mistaken), then select Choose File from SD Card, and scroll through to find the GB ROM and install that.

After that is done installing, remove your battery. Put the battery back in and HOLD VOLUME DOWN THEN THE POWER BUTTON until you see three androids dancing on skateboards. You are now in the Bootloader screen.

Now it should go and find the PG05IMG file that you downloaded and placed on SD Card earlier.

It will ask you if you want to install, I believe it wants you to press volume up if you want it to install but dont quote me on that, it will say in the options.

After its done installing it will say Press Power to Reboot.

Do that and you are up and Running!

Great write up, but I have a question about Clockwork.. I'm on DB 1.6.2 and since then I've had some updates to ROM Manager. I haven't booted into Clockwork since I installed this ROM but it tells me in ROM Mgr that there's a new version of Clockwork... before I update to the new DB based on your quoted instructions, do I have to do something special to get my CW up to date?

For example, should I boot into CW from Rom Mgr, do something specific, reboot to current ROM after completing, copy GB and Radio, back to CW to start the stuff you mentioned?

I believe you just have to "Flash Clockwork Mod' from within ROM Mgr. and you will have latest version.

Long press the screen and select personallize. then lockscreen, then settings (i think) then you can tap the app you want to change then hit apply

yeah you cant customize the lockscreen without roise aka SenseUI so we had to mod it to get it working at all.

and as for the PG05IMG file.. yes thats the radio. Download that and the GB ROM (mine is on the first page of this thread, first post. with the pictures.) and move them both to sd card root (not in a folder)

then boot into recovery and load the rom, after that take out battery, put battery back in.. hold volume down and power till you see a menu.. let it find the PG05IMG file that you renamed to 'PG05IMG' and press volume up and let it load

depends on what your base is.

If your coming from CM7, not as good.

If your coming from Stock Sense, its awesome

I am currently trying a test build which brings in much more AOSP elements.

Here's what we're looking at and why we can't use all the AOSP aspects. APKs make up the ROM, and for some god awful reason, HTC decided to brand each apk that was designed by them (ie htcdialer, htccontacts) so i cant switch those with AOSP's apks, which are plain and simple (ie dialer, contacts)

So im doing all i can. if the build i have loading now works, itll be 248MB

I can seem to get to the "Personalize" settings. When I select it, I just get sent back to my Home screen. Other than that, this Rom is sweet!

I would love to have a CM7 look with vanilla gb contacts, dialer, etc.....except I love the green ring sense lockscreen.

ok a little help please. i flashed the gb now i'm trying to install the radio 2.5 i know have to rename it to PG05IMG.zip. when i go to change the name it lets me but then i check the details and it shows a zip.zip and it wont let me change it what now?

rename it PG05IMG, it is already a .zip file

ok this is probablly a stupid question but here goes. everything is loaded and working ok. now where is the dial pad on the phone? how do i pull it up to make a call i cant find it lol

Anyone having a problem receiving MMS messages with this ROM and the 2.5 Radio? Mine are not properly downloading.

i'm not but i do keep getting some kind of message that google something something had to shut down and i keep on force closing it

ok this is the message i'm getting... the application google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectadly please try again? what does all that mean? it wasnt doing it before

oh and one more thing, it keeps on trying to update tango from the market and i dont even have tango lol. i pulled the battery and as soon it starts up it keeps on trying to update it. how can i stop it?

I haven't tried this since it happened, but yesterday I received 2 phone calls which I ignored. It appeared that neither of them left a voice mail. Last night I restarted the phone and then got the notifications that I had voice mail from the 2 calls earlier in the day.

After checking my voice mail, the notification icon won't go away. Has anyone seen this behavior?

Despite this hiccup, I still think this ROM is really good and is currently my daily driver.

Go to your app drawer, long press the phone icon and drag it onto the empty dock shortcut immediately left of the the app drawer button.
