64 or 128 GB

I got the 128gb but if I could I would switch to the 64gb and save $100 if I could without losing my shipping timeline. My note edge has 32gb, is 3 years old and I only once had to remove some audio books and large videos I was done with to open up some space. Seems 64 gig would be fine.

With unlimited photo and video cloud storage, 128gb does not really make sense. Who knows, maybe I'll find a way to use that space. Open to suggestions on what to do with that space. First thing that comes to mind is loading several movies to the phone, but I have a MS Surface that I watch movies on when traveling. However, I assume with the right adapters I could stream movies from my phone to a TV like I do with my surface?

For perspective, my first computer in 1995, a Gateway 2000, cost $2700, came loaded with 4 MB Ram and a 500 MB hard drive and had this big TV like 15 inch monitor. Times have changed fast!

I'm below 1GB on my current 32GB phone, and fed up with having to watch this, so my instinct is 128GB. I never take videos so the unlimited photo/video storage thing isn't a big deal for me, the question is music (and maps & nandroids). If I don't go too crazy 64 would probably do, but I'd rather not have to think about it.

Of course it depends on the audio quality through the adapter - if that's not up to my standards then I'm not likely to be keeping a lot of music on the device anyway ;).

I was so happy to see a 64gb option. last year it was 32 (pointlessly small) or 128 (pointlessly large). I got the 128 and after a year I have 88GB left. went 64 this time.

I had the same dilemma but ended up going for the 128gb largely for the peace of mind. I like knowing it's there if I need it, plus it'll command a higher resale value should I ever decide to sell or trade it in

Yeah good points, now just gotta wait for the 128 GB to restock

256 GB for me. It was a freebie from the note 7. Got a freebie 128Gb for the note 8.

Coming from a 32GB Note 5, the 64GB is going to seem huge. With the unlimited photo/video storage the 128 option seemed like overkill.

64G don't see why you would ever need more. I have 35G free on my 64G 6P. Music is streamed and photos are stored on Google Photos and Dropbox so aside from caching offline maps for Map what do you need local storage for? If there had been an option for more RAM I would have bought that, on my 6P there is only 400MB of RAM free, the 2XL bumps the RAM up to 4G from 3G which will help but a lot of premium phones have 6G now so I would have liked to have had that as an option.

I've never worried about allocating space on my 64GB s6 edge, but when I checked I noticed that I was down to 2GB left and I figure files will only get larger so I went with the 128GB.

Even though i may not need it, I went with 128gb.
I plan on taking a good amount of 4k movies, which take a lot of space. And yes, there's unlimited backup, but when I'm not on wifi, calling up those 4k videos on cell data is gonna take up some bandwidth (I'm not on unlimited plan) I'd rather not lose when I can just keep them on the phone instead. Not to mention they'll load much faster.

Which I guess brings up a question. Is there a way to delete from the device, but not from the cloud on a pixel? I know there's a "free up space" option, but that does everything. Is there a way to delete pics from the device, and not movies?

I suppose 128GB makes senses if you download and go video or have expensive / spotty data. 32GB on my 5x was more than enough for me. Can. I backup my 64GB iPad to my 128GB Pixel XL?

Apple would never allow that. You're only allowed to do what they want you to do :P.

128 for me too. Trying to hold on to this phone for a good 2 years. Its getting too expensive to keep doing this every year lol
