Accidental 911 Dialing

No kids in my house anymore, uh, not quite right. But, she is now 40 years young

Who said they said whip? As long as it is not abusive, sure it works without any harm. The person will understand as they get older. Why even talk about this, but your opinion is not without merit, there are crazies, but I recognize the poster as a tough parent, it is their right as well. This is an explosive topic like politics, will never get a majority to agree. If you can teach kids to behave with just words, that is excellent, it does work, and it also does not work. I support it, but minimally. Both are right or wrong. Zero sum gain. I ended up hitting 911 by pulling my HTC 1 M8 out of the backpack, I guess I need to slap myself, well mentally.

File a complain with the FCC. My S5 pocket dialed 911 a few times. AT&T won't offer you a real solution, neither Samsung. Complaints to the FCC will get AT&T attention to this serious problem.

Have you tried Kid Mode? It offers its own lockscreen that requires tracing or writing a letter to unlock the phone. While in Kid mode the child can play games, watch videos and more. You can also add your games (other apps) to what they are allowed to do and it grows with them. Register and it offers age appropriate things for them to do. We used it with our kids until they were old enough to start asking to download their own games. Meanwhile there are draw backs. When we upgraded we let the kids have the old phones. They could still do all of the stuff they liked, but Kid Mode only works with a network connection, i.e. WiFi or Carrier. On non activated phones this meant the kids could only play if we had WiFi. Also there is no dialer on the lock screen so no accidents and they can only get to Kid Mode, that is until they see you unlock it once or twice.

Emergency Dialing still works in Kid's Mode. Trust me, my kid does it at least once a week.
