[ACS][ROM] Leaf Rom - 0.2

Still waiting on road rash to clear up so my back and shoulders aren't so stiff. It hurts when you rip scabs that cover most of your shoulder every time you reach for something. :( I keep myself logged in all day and just occasionally get up to check the forums and my messages. I'm hoping it clears up by mid-week because it isn't too bad anymore, I'm just not getting much done with it.

Ooo u got it bad..firehak my man.take a break for some days untill u can cause then u won't be able to concentrate

I'm feeling pretty good today, one shoulder feels fine and the other is only slightly stiff. I don't seem to have any problems getting up over bending my lower back at all to sit down. Now if only my feet would heal this fast so I could wear shoes.. I have a feeling this is gonna leave some big scars on my back. This is what I've been dealing with: My Stupidity - a set on Flickr. Not too big, but all of them in just the right spot that it made it hurt to move. :(

Anyway, Now that I'm feeling better about being able to move, I need to get back into the app and finishing my website. I hope I don't take too long.

https://psp-1.com/ pda tar (system, recovery, kernel. data)

1. Download and unzip the file.
2. Install the Samsung USB drivers
3. Put phone in Download Mode by holding Space, P and Power button until the Yellow Downloading message appears
4. Plug phone into USB port
5. Open Odin, you should see a yellow box with a com number
6. Select ops file and the PDA.tar in the appropriate Boxes
7. Click Start

this is a prerooted odin system image but for the most part, stock ( i wanna say the pre ef27 update but not too sure.) this is good for people who dont want to be on leafrom anymore :)

now that we have odin working ill try to get cwm knocked out and then leafrom 0.3 and a custom kernel for yall in teh next few days :) sorry its been so slow :(

Prevail irc again? I'll join. And there's nothing wrong with being lazy. I've taken too much time off from working on the app and now I have no motivation to start again. :P You've at least got an excuse with the new baby

webchat url is busted, have to talk to the admin to get it fixed. anyways scratch joingin im about to head out the door, but if your feeling brave and then go ahead and test the files :)

Ah, ok. I'll probably bookmark that then for later if you still want us to chat in irc. I'm downloading the odin files now, you labeled them as ED23.

i have the other two tars, but the risk of really bricking your phone raises with those two. do not repartition your device, and you may have to boot into recovery and wipe (factory reset)

I'll save that effort for when we get the DarkTremor port. I can't even update any of my apps without it telling me I have no space. It'll be another 30 minutes or so to download on this bad connection, but I'll report back on whether it goes smoothly or not.

Is it still possible to brick now that we know download mode and odin is working? How did you ever come up with space+p and power up? I wrote samsung numerous times asking how to get into download mode, all e-mail went unanswered.

no not really, anyways im back now im trying to compile the recovery binary, may be able to make a test cwm tonight who knows

About screen confirms stock ED23 build, but I forgot to factory wipe on boot. Superuser permissions are working. Odin is a success! Now to put LeafRom back on... ;)

ShabbyLeaf Update: It appears to me that sending a rom with ShabbyLeaf is only working when already running a custom rom. :'( I'm not sure if anyone else had trouble with it, but I'll apologize to anyone who may have had troubles after I told everyone that it did work. Sending your rom with my app is about to become obsolete anyways, but it's upsetting to find out after releasing 3 versions.

Theming, boot animations, and bloatware DO work, so I'll still continue updating the app if anyone is still interested. Maybe I'll change it up as an alternative to updating your rom rather than flashing through odin, but that will only work for minor updates.

Hi,

Thank you to Shabbypenguin and Firehak. I'm fairly new to android, so I probably need your help in even asking the right questions. Also, I hope I'm not repeating information from other posts.

I initially tried to load LeafROM 0.2, but my phone updated with EF27 shortly after I started using it. When I changed the USB to debugging mode, the LeafROM batch install file (and my computer) no longer recognized that the Replenish was connected to the computer. I went to a developer website to find a Samsung driver and found "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86" (without quotes) and installed it. Afterwards, my computer and the LeafROM batch file recognized the phone and I was able to flash (correct use?) my phone with the new ROM. My phone still says Baseband Version is S:M580.06 x.EF27, but the apps screen looks different (moves horizontally instead of vertically). The phone tried to install an update (I assume EF27), but it failed to update the second time. Otherwise, the phone is working very well. Will this be helpful to others? Did I do something in a convoluted way that has a simpler solution?

I used Shabbyleaf after the LeafROM was installed, but I'm not sure if this was necessary.

I was also wondering about internal memory. Prior to LeafROM, I had ~102 MB w/ 2-3 apps installed. After the ROM flash (word usage?), I had 118 MB. Then, I updated Google Maps and loaded 3 apps. This left me with ~85 MB. Is this due to the apps that the LeafROM loads w/ it? Will the internal memory be used more efficiently in the future with the new programs (File Expert, Superuser, GO Launcher)? Or does EF27 increase the internal memory space available?

I look forward to your reply.
