Adobe AIR not showing in list of apps to open .air files

I have a .air file, and Adobe AIR. When I open Adobe AIR, it doesn't show my .air file anywhere and I can't open it as it's not on the list to open files with an app.
This is extremely frustrating as I'm doing exactly what the tutorials say and that one step to open the .air file is the one I can't get past. Is there any app that can force open a file with ANY app instead of restricting it to a small list?

That won't help. .air files are similar to Flash games although not the same as Flash. I want to open and play it. Also arbitrarily renaming files to .zip barely works.

I had version 32 and uninstalled it for the version 25 you gave me. No dice.

I should probably also note I was not prompted to use Package Installer and I did not get a set up wizard when I ran the Adobe AIR app.

Seems like you need an older device for this to work as Adobe Air only works in a 32Bit environment

Works fine on my 64-bit computer.

Android is different which is why the app got pulled since it does not include 64bit libraries

Adobe air has been pulled and retired so no fix on the way, sorry.

I think I read one article to do this through chrome but I'll have to search again while looking up your issue but don't remember it was desktop chrome or mobile.
