All APps Sort Order - What's the rhyme or Reason?

I thought it was alphabetical but somehow the sorting of my All Apps screen got messed up. Ive got the preloaded apps that begin with A at the top then there's a few ones I've downloaded mixed in with other A apps at the bottom.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this - any way to fix it or maybe a sorting option I've missed?

Hmmm... I'm looking at the all apps screen and I hit the menu button (the 4 squares) and get:
Add - asks me about putting things on the home screen
Wallpaper - switches wallpapers
Search - takes me to the search box
Notifications - takes me to my notifications
Settings -takes me to the phone settings

Maybe I'm missing something?

I thought you were referring to the Settings > Applications > Manage applications screen. My bad.

I had 2 apps I downloaded end up at the bottom of the list, out of abc order. After a reboot they moved to where they belong.
