AMAZING battery life!!!! Check it out!

I really liked BakedSnack. Nice package, but I was having issues with the music player....and I can't go without my tunes. Ended up going back to Fresh 0.3

Ok, I'm having a bit of a time understanding this ROOT, RECOVERY, WIPE, FLASH, ROM process.

This what I've done so far:
1. Rooted my Pre with unrEVOked.
2. Downloaded the ROM from this thread to my SD card.
3. Installed "ROM Manager"
4. Installed the "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"
5. Attempted to "Install ROM from SD card" but I get a "can't open cache recovery command"

I have no clue what to do to fix that or if i'm even doing this thing the right way.

I have looked at other methods, but for some reason, I caint get my head around the command line stuff.

And direction or help would be appreciated

You rooted your PRE??? lol
Unrevoked is NOT a complete root therefor you can not install custom roms.

Here use this method. It starts out with unrevoked but then you get real root.

I'd much rather see the total wake time during that 36 hours.

Actually.. i know i grabbed a screen shot of that screen. I think it was when i was around 1day 3 hr or something like that. Dont think it was the 36 hour mark.. but i have the screenies on my computer at the office. Will check tomorrow and post them if i can.

Here is my graph from the past day and a half or so...wasn't paying too much attention to my usage but I would say that it was light/moderate...will do the same thing tomorrow and monitor usage...

so unplugged at about 315 sunday after noon and at 9% approx at 915 monday night

I don't use voice at all and my phone doesn't more than 8 hours so this would be awesome, but I seriously don't want to have to root. I have no doubt that I could, but it's more work than I feel like doing at this point. Spare chargers are my friend ;)

Not being critical of anyone who loads, or wants to load, custom ROMs. But there's a reason Google, HTC and Sprint spend months testing the software on their devices. These ROMs seem to have marginal testing at best. They all seem to have more bugs and/or broken features than I'm willing to put up with on a device I use every day.

If I could have a second EVO just to play around with, maybe, but right now I need my Evo to simply work. All the time, every day.

lets set the record straight. after installing this i got LESS battery time!!!
total up time as of this post 11hrs 05min. total awake time 2hrs 46min. was @ 9%!
one thing i see is my adroid system is @96%! wtf. was getting 14-18 hrs of usage b4 this.
just plugged back in and i will go through cycle again and see what i get.
and this is with very limited usage left off the charger all night to test this theory.

unplugged for 10hrs 52 min 56 sec

It will backup market apps, settings, and other features on the device so that you can restore them when you reload. The best thing i have found is to just backup the user installed apps, then i go through and backup all the settings individually (things that are green in TB). There will be items in red when you are looking at the TB list but i usually dont back those up as sometimes those are rom specific (but lots of people do just a full backup and restore).

Titanium Backup ?˜… root - Android app on AppBrain

I would recommend the donate version and the dev is SUPER quick on responding and very helpful with questions and problems. like i have said, this is the best money i have spent on any app!.

I just started looking for a "100% complete" backup solution. On my Treo I had a program called NVBackup. It created a complete 100% backup/copy of the internal memory onto the SD card. I could alter or do anything to the Treo I wanted and that would get it back to the EXACT state it was when I backed it up. 100% copy/restore! It was great as I could make different copies to play with stuff and always be able to restore where I wanted.

Does TB do that? If not is there anything for Android like that?

If I had that option I would play with ROMS as you then have nothing to lose at all! i:Di

Of course re-downloading all the apps and setting up everything all over again on the new ROM would not be fun but hey.

I wish I knew how to do all this. I am way to nervous I would screw it up and then my phone would be fracked up. That would suck. I do need better battery life though! Charging 4 times a day is getting ridiculous.

its very easy. so you wont mess anything up. if you can read you can root this phone, and install this rom. im retesting so ill report my findings.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I download the PC361 file and it doesn't read it from my SD card. Anyone know what the problem is?

well if you root you have NAND backups which do a total mirror image of the entire OS, down to every detail call log, text, etc. so its like returning your phone to any instance in time you wish, as long as you have a nand backup for that.

but titanium backup is more for when trying out new ROMs and you have to start over, so it backs up individual components, or all of the ones you want, and restores to the new ROM.

do you have it in the root of your sd card? dont open your sd card just open my computer and drag it to your sd card.
then when you reboot hold down the volume button and hit power. let it do its thing . shouldnt have any probs after that.

Got it!

Got the ROM installed, backup apps and data installed, everything looks "normal".

Now, to test the battery life . . . :D
