AMAZING battery life!!!! Check it out!

So this is found in a LOT of threads.. I am actully cutting and pasting this section from here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/17191-possible-solution-battery-issue.html

2) Go into the battery usage settings again and click on Cell Standby. If you see "TIME WITHOUT SIGNAL" at above 15%, you need to go to the market and download NETWORK. ONce it is downloaded open the program and you will see that the SET PREFERRED NETWORK TYPE is set to GSM AUTO (PRL). I found out via XDA DEVELOPER SITE that this is a error with Android. You will need to change it to CDMA AUTO (PRL). Hit Menu> then "Select radio band" you will get a FORCE QUIT popup just hit force quit to make it go away. Then change it to CDMA AUTO (PRL) and then hit menu again to get the FORCE QUIT and then hit it. IT will boot you out (this is normal). This will change your settings to CDMA and you will see that TIME WITHOUT SIGNAL drop to below 10%. I'm at 3% now.

I checked and mine is already set to CDMA Auto PRL.
My time without signal is at 30% though.

even tho it says that you need to do it anyway. i have tried this on the stock rom and it does work. i was in cdma as well. i changed it then changed it back to cdma auto prl and i did get improvements.
will test with this rom today tho.

ok im back with some more info. after the 3rd charge. this time i didnt turn off after charge and charge some more. i took the evo off the charger @ roughly 330 am est. left it laying on the night stand. this morning i checked it and to my surprise as of now being off the charger for 5hrs 40min i have 83% battery left. but keep in mind this is all idle time with no usage by myself.but better than the first 2 cycles. 1st cycle gave me about 10 hrs b4 screaming for juice. 2nd charge was about 7hrs. so as of right now things are improving. i guess. i also have had a 0% time without signal during this period. i will update later today after i put it through some minor usage .

23 hours on my last charge...won't go into specifics of usage as that varies greatly but I just now got the "charge phone" message.

This is the best I've gotten. Last thing I did was run the battery dry....completely dead to the point of it not even being able to turn on in the least bit. I then charged it up fully before turning it on and this is the best performance I've gotten on it. I plan to do it again.....run out the charge completely.

I hard reset my wife's phone yesterday and the charge, unlike before, lasted her all day into the evening. I guess hard resets and completely charge cycling the battery hold some weight.

First day of use: 75% battery used (86%@5pm -> 11%@1am) in 8 hours. Had just one call, but lots of internet usage. 3 hrs in 3g, 5 hrs in Wifi.

Not sure if that is good, but it was a day 1 test.

PS: Time without signal is 0% for me.

So far my battery life seems much much worse. I've been off the charger for 3.5 hours and I am at 51% left. That is with about 15 min websurfing, 10 text messages, 55 minutes of sprint tv watching the world cup, an hour with GPS on, and 15 minutes with 4g on. So maybe this is about what the battery would have been like before putting this rom on.

I'm at 62% after 4 hrs with light internet usage and lots of texting, one 1 minute Youtube video, GPS on, all on 3G.

Things don't feel "extraordinary" in battery life now, modest at best.

If you just rooted then it could ber that you're battery isn't calibrated anymore. I think you list battery stats.

I'm at like 60% brightness and at 60% after 6 hours of moderate to heavy usage. So I'm good. I just wanted ther battery to last a whole day with brightness at what I wanted it to be at.

How would I recalibrate the battery then since I rooted? I'm at 42% now, and was at like 52% an hour ago when I last posted.

Just flashed this yesterday and i'm not seeing improvements yet. More details later.

I did this with out installing a different rom. My battery life is outstanding and coming from a Pre I know what to do to extend my battery life. when I first got the Evo I got 12hrs out the the box then I did some tweaks and it does 16hrs but yesterday I read an htc memo on this site somewhere that mention that they would do a update because the Evo's no charging properly. Well it turn out to be ture and I got 24hrs out of it with 51% battery life remaining. This is with a mixed of lite to moderate use and with standby test I achieved 60hrs. Now I don't have buy and ext battery. I lose between 1% to 1.5% and hr.

Anyone who tried BakedSnack having issues with the SD Card unmounting? Mine keeps doing it randomly, and it requires me to reboot to get it mounted again.

New to Android..

So throughout this thread I have seen about 3 ways to root and about half and half as far as the battery life being better..

What I am looking for is the truely/easiest/correct way to root my phone.. Also I have had Blackberry for years and been using the Pre recently.. I see what the advantages are to "mods" on both of them are, but what does rooting my EVO really do for me? I don't mean to sound dumb, but I like to know these things before I get into doing these kind of things with my phone...

I'm on Day 3 without charging my battery. Battery is very low at this point. It's at about 25%.

I made a point to look at my battery settings. it was 14hours since last plugged in. I did a restart which then in return restarted the timer... It's now at 20hours 34minutes since last plugged in.

So, I'm pushing 20 + 14 hours since last plugged in. 34 hours and still going. How is that for battery life!

Just a side note, I have been using my phone normal as I always do. E-mail, text, web, etc. Haven't been making a point to use the phone lightly.
