AMAZING battery life!!!! Check it out!

This rom does seem to work I am 80% battery with up time of 6 hours 10 mins and awake time of 1 hour. Been making a few calls at least 20 mins of phone call and the rest texts and internet.

I'm tempted to do this, have you had any issues with hardware, or software? (Camera, GPS, 4G, etc.) I could really use the extra battery time. Also is this a 2.1 or 2.2 rom? I assume 2.1, since a full 2.2 has not been released yet.

do you have it in the root of your sd card? dont open your sd card just open my computer and drag it to your sd card.
then when you reboot hold down the volume button and hit power. let it do its thing . shouldnt have any probs after that.

I will give that a shot. When I downloaded the file to my computer it couldn't open the folder, does that sound right?

Don't install the over-clock feature. Otherwise it has been very stable.

7hrs20min and I'm at 60%.
Awake time has been 4hrs1min.
Brightness is turned up all the way. Light usage since I was in class.

Good so far, I'll report back at the end of the day.

Flashed this last night and my battery has been total shiesse today. Charged all night, took it off at noon. It's not even 5 o'clock yet, and I'm already down to 43% with hardly any usage. Kinda pissed too, cuz I had been running stock + Unrevoked, and went to the hassle of doing a "real" root + Clockwork just to flash this thing. Waste of my time. And yes, apps/services/accounts/settings are all the same as before. Double-checked them all.

well if you root you have NAND backups which do a total mirror image of the entire OS, down to every detail call log, text, etc. so its like returning your phone to any instance in time you wish, as long as you have a nand backup for that.

but titanium backup is more for when trying out new ROMs and you have to start over, so it backs up individual components, or all of the ones you want, and restores to the new ROM.

Okay this is what I want then. I want to do a complete NAND backup first before I play around in case everything messes up. This way I can restore from that. What is the easiest to use NAND software?

Then I also want to do the Titanium backup to save and restore all my settings and programs etc.. to the new ROM image

Sweet, if I can do that then there really is nothing to lose by trying that out.

I can't adjust my "in-call" volume with this ROM, anyone else?

Post this in the actual thread so the developer knows. I haven't tried but I use audiomanager free or lite widget and that's how I adjust all my volumes. Very nifty.

It actually went away after a reboot, kind of strange.

I have not used the ROM and I am at 78% 7hrs 5min. Light to medium usage
I have a live wallpaper wifi/bt/gps all set to on but not really used.

May not really be doing anything better than the battery tweaks I already did.

Ok, I just noticed that my sprints navigation app is missing from this rom.is that known?

Does this keep all the Sprint Apps? I wanna keep Sprint TV because I am using it to watch the world cup games. I'm about to root and flash this rom but wanna make sure I have Sprint TV...otherwise I will wait until after the US game tomorrow morning.

I still have Sprint TV on my installed Rom. Sprint Navigation is missing from mine tho.

ok so with 2nd full charge i can report that the statements made are false. i have an up time of 4hrs 27min. and awake time of 1hr 28 min. battery is @ 55%. this is way less than my time with out this rom. i dont have wifi or anything running. minor usage. txt and facebook. maybe 3 calls. no live wall papper, no widgets, nothing extra running.
i like the rom but when you promise over a day and a half, please deliver on that.
i will prob revert back to stock because i cant even get 10 hrs with this. i have the 002 build. every since i put this rom on my evo, the android system is eating all my battery.
but the rom is solid. i have seen no bugs with camera or volume or fc's. just doesnt follow through on promises of extreme battery life.

From reading through the developer's thread, I only see one thing that might provide better battery life, and that's under volting the cpu when it's idle. And I'd be really surprised if underclocking by .1 volt is going to double your battery life.

Then again, I don't claim to be an expert at this stuff.

This rom also does not have many of the stock apps which run in the background. Maybe one of the stock apps is causing all the battery issues.

The creator of the rom didn't promise over a day and a half.
It's people using it that are claiming better battery life.

You seem to be the only one with worse battery life.
Wonder what happened?

I think I'll wait to hear from a few more people before I try the rom.
I can make it through the work day and then some with stock.
So, no rush.

There is something I hate about most of this ROMs...

Right now I am using a rooted rom that is basically stock + root, and I am happy with it. Now, I would LOVE to use for instance this battery saving ROM, but WHY the developers insist in adding personal touches to the Roms?!!! (like modifying themes, icons, etc).

I mean, why don't they do just performance enhancing ROMS without touching any styling (because styling is something very personal, and something that might look great to you, can look horrible to me....)

Whats the fun in that? For most roms, there are themes you can install.. maybe you can find a different theme that will take you back to stock??

I personally LOVE the different look and icons that devs give to some roms.

Yes, sure, the one I am using is like that, but my problem is that they release new amazing roms with great features (like this battery saving rom), but you can only get them all modified..... :(

I really liked BakedSnack. Nice package, but I was having issues with the music player....and I can't go without my tunes. Ended up going back to Fresh 0.3

I'm a very heavy user. I'm interested in seeing what I get from this.

Not being critical of anyone who loads, or wants to load, custom ROMs. But there's a reason Google, HTC and Sprint spend months testing the software on their devices. These ROMs seem to have marginal testing at best. They all seem to have more bugs and/or broken features than I'm willing to put up with on a device I use every day.

If I could have a second EVO just to play around with, maybe, but right now I need my Evo to simply work. All the time, every day.

Maybe you should just get an iphone? Cant load any custom roms there... ;)

lets set the record straight. after installing this i got LESS battery time!!!
total up time as of this post 11hrs 05min. total awake time 2hrs 46min. was @ 9%!
one thing i see is my adroid system is @96%! wtf. was getting 14-18 hrs of usage b4 this.
just plugged back in and i will go through cycle again and see what i get.
and this is with very limited usage left off the charger all night to test this theory.

unplugged for 10hrs 52 min 56 sec

Try reloading the rom, AND make sure that you are set to CDMA (prl) in your network settings (see my next post for instructions)

Bummer.. maybe reload and make sure you wipe everything before install!! Only a few people reporting this.. SO.. stands to reason its just an issue with the install... not the rom.

Theres a thread in these forums and XDA about taking out and adding back in sprint APK's just do a search.

So this is found in a LOT of threads.. I am actully cutting and pasting this section from here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/17191-possible-solution-battery-issue.html

But.. for everyone still having battery issues... try this EXACTLY AS IT IS PRINTED... DONT SKIP A STEP...(MOST IMPORTANT IMO IS #2)

1) Fully charge the battery with the Evo and when the indicator light is green (give it 15 minutes after it goes green). Unplug the Evo and turn it off. Once the phone shuts down, plug it back in and you will notice that the battery will start charging again (indicator light goes red) after it goes green again (indicating full charge) turn the Evo back on. Once it turns on, take it off the charger, and use the phone for several minutes and check battery usage, and I guarantee your display usage will have decreased to 3-9%. When I got the display to change, the Evo would no longer lose 10-20% of its charge within 15 minutes of getting unplugged.

2) Go into the battery usage settings again and click on Cell Standby. If you see "TIME WITHOUT SIGNAL" at above 15%, you need to go to the market and download NETWORK. ONce it is downloaded open the program and you will see that the SET PREFERRED NETWORK TYPE is set to GSM AUTO (PRL). I found out via XDA DEVELOPER SITE that this is a error with Android. You will need to change it to CDMA AUTO (PRL). Hit Menu> then "Select radio band" you will get a FORCE QUIT popup just hit force quit to make it go away. Then change it to CDMA AUTO (PRL) and then hit menu again to get the FORCE QUIT and then hit it. IT will boot you out (this is normal). This will change your settings to CDMA and you will see that TIME WITHOUT SIGNAL drop to below 10%. I'm at 3% now.
