Amazon price 699 for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus

It's refreshing to see so many people correctly spell "losing". If seeing "losing" spelled "loosing" were a drinking game we'd all be chronic alcoholics.

Let's bring this full circle, then. Why wouldn't Google choose Moto for the Nexus?

Maybe for the fact that the deal still has not gone through yet and when the nexus was being made google wasn't going to show any favorites. But that would make too much sense for you. Or maybe the next nexus will be from moto????

Some of you people here are too naive, sorry. If you remember, Samsung, HTC, and LG all praised the Google/Motorola deal. They said they agreed with it to protect the Android ecosystem (patents). That is true. BUT, don't you think if I were the CEO of Samsung, the company that sells more smart phones than any other company, that I might be a little concerned that Google (the company who has the software that has caused Samsung to take the top spot b/c of Android) is now vertically integrating? Which scenario do you feel is most likely? Google dumping Moto, or Google dumping Samsung, HTC, LG, et al? Or neither? If the answer is neither, then Google will lose money. Ain't gonna happen.

The link is old. Droid Life (I think) posted about it a few days ago. It's just a placeholder for Amazon if and when the device comes out. Price is probably based off of the GSII from other carriers.

Indeed. Sorry.

So, at least slightly more on topic: Speaking of Amazon, I just played around with my coworker's Kindle Fire. It's nicer than I expected. I really like the size.
And how is your impression of the Kindle Fire even remotely on topic? ROTFLMO!

This is the last one then i am done... you said it has been losing money for the last 10 months straight. you may not remember be Motorola split less them 2 years ago, as a matter of fact i believe it was the beginning of this year so 3 quarters maybe, for that exact purpose, because they were losing money. Then Sanjay left from qualcomm to take over as CEO of motorola mobility. IN FACT, motorola mobility has be on the INCLINE ever since. Yes, it was in a real bad state but Sanjay has turned it around and they are almost out of QUarter losses.

Now, to current day, google bought motorola because of the patent support that android needs to cover developers butts from getting sued. It is in no way going to hinder the android brand and give exclusivity support to Motorola. Motorola is a HUGE brand name, they wouldnt just bury it like that. They didnt bring Sanjay into motorola to sell off the brand and fire him. Motorola will go on as it is now and so will the rest of the OEMs

Knowing the industry is important!

Sorry you feel that way. Let us know when your next visit to these forums will be so we can prepare a proper welcome. We "naive folk" look forward to your next theory or speculation regarding multimillion dollar companies.

He's going to make about $16 million on the deal. I'd get fired for that.

$16 million? bahahahah he worked at qualcomm when the stock went from 3 dollars to $80 then split 4 ways, dropped back down to $40 went back up to $60 then it split AGAIN. Sanjay is at least a 100 millionaire if not more rich. That is pocket change to him.

Edited $35 million
