Hello Androidcentral! Whether you love or hate Motorola, the seemingly positive steps they've taken in the past day have brought up some important issues to me. Issues that could really effect Android as a whole.

I'm not here to try and support or defend anyone, but if you could please read this and spread it around, it's a Letter to Motorola that contains a bit of hope for Android's future.

Thanks in advance if you decide to help spread the word, and thanks to everyone for being an awesome Android Community.

+1 I would prolly buy the Bionic if it were easy to crack and I could flash something other than a blurry android feel.

Honestly as long as I could use launcher pro or adw is all I care about. I moved out of hacking when I left the palm pre and couldn't be happier. Although rooting my EVO for 2.3 is very tempting. Especially if they had a sense version of 2.3.

I'm not knocking the people who root, I just don't want to take the time to do it that's all.

I think it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully they follow through with it. I personally haven't rooted my X, and don't really have any plans to. And either way, it will not hold me back from buying the Bionic when it gets released. I really just don't have the time or inclination to root and flash ROMs. ADW gives me the customization I need.

Motorola phones are great but after my Droid X I will not buy another Blur device unless it can run custom roms.

If I were stuck with a phone running Blur and no way to remove it I would probably sell it. When I installed a vanilla rom on my X, it became much faster and the little hiccups/slowdowns that annoyed me in Blur were gone.

Vanilla > Sense > TW > BLUR

Rooting is like giving your phone a viagra.

...and like any other drugs - this medication could cause some serious side effects. "Use with caution".

When you can show me a thread or a post where rooting and rooting ALONE has caused a serious side effect, let me know. :)
