As last ng as my phone gets me through a normal day, off the charger between 5 - 6 AM and back on the charger between 10 - 11 PM, I don't worry too much about it. I'm gonna charge it every night while I sleep. When it can't get through a day that's when I start investigating. That's just my philosophy though.

Totally agree. I just need my phone to get me through the day, nothing more.

Between 12 beta and Messages beta my texts were a mess and causing me issues; no notification dot, new text notifications not clearing from my Wear OS watch, new text notifications appearing on Android Auto screen the next morning long after reading a text, etc. Opted out of Messages beta last night (and 3 or 4 texts I never received magically appeared as "new") and the removal finally processed completely. I'm back on regular Messages and hope all these issues clear up.

Well, here’s the interesting thing for me… I just downloaded messages beta to try out some of the newer features such as pinning messages to the top. I’ll have to let you know if I run into any issues at all bough. Hopefully not though.

You're a braver man than me... running a beta inside a beta  :p

haha, yeah, tell me about it! I was thinking the same thing. I want to see how it performs. So far, so good. I mean, If I do notice anything, I'll let you know, that's for sure!

I have signed up to be a tester for the messages app but I don't see any differences in particular pin to the top contacts. Am I missing something. I am in Australia if that makes any difference?

I don't think it makes a difference which country you're in. Here's what Messages Beta looks like on my phone. There's the option to be reminded of a message at a certain time, and for contact pinning. That's it.

The new "pin" feature never appeared for me on Messages beta. I read that it's a combination of a certain beta app version and a server side update for your Google account.

I can see you have the PIN option I don't have that running messages Beta

mhmm... Interesting. I say that only because I've always just had the "regular" messages app on my phone, and the second i enrolled in the the beta program and then update the app on my phone, I saw the pinning feature which is what I really wanted to try out for myself anyways. It's pretty nice so far.

That's really weird to me. I was reading on 9 to 5 Google and Android Police that one of the main features of Messages Beta is the PINNING feature.

This is what I see

The server side change is Google opting in your individual Google account for the feature. Sometimes it takes a while for that to happen, sometimes it's instant.

You know the odd thing was mine is the fact that the second I enrolled in the Message is beta program, it worked instantaneously for pinning messages. That's the main feature that I missed from Textra that I want to try in the native Google messages. And it works very well as designed.

It's not that odd. Sometimes server side updates are instant for some users, and other times it takes a while for your Google account to be enrolled. It's a coin toss. You were obviously in the instant group, others might have to wait. It's a guessing game sometimes

Yeah, that's a good point. Hopefully then, it shouldn't take too too long to see the pinning feature in your messages made up. It is a nice feature of the app in beta mode. I'm also going to be testing the battery life of the beta app on my phone.

alrighty, gotcha, Here's an idea i just though of - Quickly exit the Messages Beta program, uninstall it from your phone, then re-install it from scratch. Try that out, and give that a shot. Sometimes that's the "server-side" change that has to be done.
It worked left beta program re enrolled updated now can see PIN feature pretty cool thanks
