I'm thinking it must be a bug, based on what I see in the settings. It was mentioned in the In-Depth Tech Review I posted earlier. Makes me wonder if there will be one more update you the beta before it rolls out to the public?

I was just going to post and ask if anyone else has the blank options in the new Date/Time widget. I guess it's not just me.

I was finally able to make my phone usable again by Clearing all data for Pixel Launcher, which forced me to setup my home screens again. Still couldn't add widgets though.....until I added the Google app - weather shortcut to my home screen. For some reason adding that opened up the whole Widget menu again. Very strange (and buggy).

I also do not like the new at a glance or whatever Google is calling it. You can still add the old At A Glance Widget which has date, time and weather, but then there are two Date widgets on your home screen, which is silly.

I agree that there better be a beta 5.1 or beta 6, this is still not ready for the Pixel 6 release and general public release.

Oh, I'm stuck with Beta 12 also, cannot factory reset right now. Beta 5 brought back the Pixel 4 issue where the lock screen displays "clean the top of your screen..." bug which has been intermittent since the Pixel 4 has been around. It's really frustrating for folks like me that have an Android watch set as a trusted device, so I don't normally see a lock screen ever.... except when this bug is present. And if you factory reset while that bug is present then more than likely face unlock will never work again. I'm not taking that chance right now, so I'll make 12 beta work as best as I can for now. At least my launcher is working again.

Glad to see the search on phone available from the app drawer now.

Unfortunately, the bug with my Google Pixel Buds 2 is still around .

Also, the At A Glance widget is now optional, but I noticed that there's a calendar widget on there in place of At A Glance, and it can't be removed.
Well, I have fixed the issue with my buds, yay! I left the Google app beta, then went into the settings for my buds, turned off Google Assistant, then turned it back on. Boom! Working now! I was also able to get back into the Google app beta, and it's still working completely fine. Whew!

Just curious. I reported this as a bug. Should I report this fix?

I've found turning the Assistant off then on again has been a pretty consistent fix for Assistant problems for the last couple of Android versions. I frequently get Assistant problems after I update the Google app through the play store.... fortunately the off on method always fixes them

Some things I've noticed in beta 5 so far. For me so far even though I barely use my phone, battery life is still insanely good, Google's decision to give us more spacing on the always-on lock screen for notifications and the time-date weather makes looking at notifications much easier just to glance at them. I like that actually. The bigger fun that emad from in-depth tech review stated is easier on the eyes and you can read things on the phone faster and easier. Material you got slightly better, along with the Google search bar widget now showing the quick shortcut icon for Google lens shockingly!

I like the new Easter Egg widget showing which material you theme is currently in use.

It's kind of weird and cool at the same time. Here's an example of mine though.

Has anyone else had their date move to the left on their home screen?

I actually like it better too. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a bug only I had.
It's supposed to be the "new" At A Glance widget and also display Assistant information like weather, etc. but the Settings menu is broken and Google acknowledged it's broken and said they are working on a fix so we can select what other info we want so see next to the date.

For me that is all I want it to show me, just the date.

That's why I hope Google fixes the settings menu. I want weather and other info. I like that they added the sliders so we can chose what we want. Now just make it work Google.

yup yup, I absolutely agree with you! I also love seeing the weather. Right now I have the weather shortcut on my home screen which takes up space. I want to see it as a live widget!

So pleased it is finally fixed!! That has been a nightmare for you. File the bug

Beta 5 is freaking awesome. Very smooth and responsive. Better life is insane. Granted, I have my always on lock screen turned on, but whenever I'm not actually using my phone, I put my screen over so that my always on lock screen turns off most of the time. Flip my phone over when I only need to see notifications without actually having to unlock my phone.

My battery life has dropped significantly. Only just under 24 hours and less than 5 SoT to 25% when I would be over a day and a half with 6 to 7bhours SoT for same percentage. Dunno why it has dropped so much. And it is draining badly on standby.
