Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI22 latest build WITH IMAGE

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

Ive given up on the epic with the photon and the gs2 coming out. Too little, too late...imho.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

I got no complaints. I knew they were slow to update, but I got my epic recently for 99 bucks, it's light years better hardware wise than my pre - was, I'll be happy for 2 years, it's still quite an amazing phone, if 2.3 fixes the random modem issues, i'll be happy.

You shouldn't be experiencing random modem issues in Froyo, thats a GB specific issue right now. You will be waiting a bit longer for an update as they just completed a build a couple of days ago. You may not mind the wait, but this seems just as bad as when we had to wait for Froyo... the difference is that there isn't a plethora of other devices running GB right now to rub it in. Personally I switched carriers altogether (still have my epic) and my nice newer device doesn't have an official GB release either. Fortunately, I got an HTC device and the developers that come with them already have fully working (including lte4g) CM7 without the need of source code and my personal favorite, GBSense3.0 which is amazing. Blows touchwiz out of the water (not that I personally though it was good to begin with. The email app left a lot to be desired and still does).

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

this wait is nothing like it was for froyo. people are just impatient because of the multiple leaks (myself included). but, take a step back and you will see this is nothing like the wait for froyo (not yet).

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

But yet the phones from other companies, released roughly at the same time, or before have Gingerbread.

exactly.

not complaining but if there is something, like touch wiz thats keeping these updates from arriving on schedule, then be rid of it or find a fix so they do not interfere with each other. noone like to be picked last.

yes yes i know what if there are some bugs and because we are last we avoid the damages, ok fine. but im pretty sure thats not samsprints reasonig behind being late all the time.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

I'm waiting patiently as the next person. Really, would you rather be on the device that gets it out of the gate first with bugs and needed fixes or wait a bit longer for a build/release that is better? Not saying were going to get a perfect build but it shouldn't have as many bugs and needed little fixes as devices who already got GB. Plus many have v2.3.3, from the last 3 or 4 builds it looks like were getting v2.3.4 which is a step ahead of many...

the voice of reason.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

**** son, you're on the Internet. No such thing as "reason" here. Just fanboys who want everything to be perfect right now.
LOL, I love how one paragraph I write can get a few people fired up... Its true though I would rather wait the extra month or so for a better build. Would you rather Samsung/Sprint released back a month or so on EE03 or EF02 and we have the modem crashed and other bugs that are still lurking in GB? Then everyone would of been crying that they released a garbage build and been crying for an immediate update or they would of had to pull it like they did Froyo EB13.

Has nothing to do with fanboy here Playboy... I'm just speaking the truth I think anyone that ran the last 2 leaks would agree they are good but weren't good enough to be considered release canidates/official builds. Lets look at it from another point of view, this could very well be the final update/release from Samsung/Sprint for the Epic 4g so lets give them some credit on taking the time to have so many test builds because I have a feeling once this is out unless something goes completely wrong with the official release I don't see anymore reason why Samsung or Sprint is going to tie up any further resources in the Epic 4g with all the newer devices they have in the works including the Epic 2 or whatever its going to be called at release.

What's wrong with that? Paul is right.
Thanks for the support Ted. I know your one of the many who wish to just have the best build possible for those who run stock OS and not have to deal with all the garbage we had on Froyo official builds. Completely understandable man...

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

Yah well, it's a good build and Google voice that will save me frombuying the S2 :the next iPhone killer, but sadly, not the last.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG14 latest build

I am glad they bumped up to 2.3.4 since it should bring us the video chat features. I really thought they would release GB as 2.3.3 though as the build seems more stable to me than stock froyo, then release 2.3.4 shortly after. Obviously it has taken a little bit to try and iron out whatever they are trying to fix.

Anything released after 2.3.4 to me would be completely unexpected. The only thing I would say though is if the Nexus S gets the next OS, there could be a slight chance we could get it as the hardware would most likely support it.

I'm expecting to see the 2.3.4 leaked by the end of this weekend. Best I can tell, is that the modem crash issue was holding up our release. We'll see soon enough.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

EG22 now huh, how many builds of GB is this now? Time for a new software leak to test Samsung/Sprint.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

Sure is crazy to think of how many builds it takes for samaung to get something right. I don't think I would have a job if I screwed up this many times.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

if they keep updating the build, would that imply that there is more than one problem?
