Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI22 latest build WITH IMAGE

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

anything on the GB front? i think ive learned my lesson: every new update takes samsprint longer and longer to push. im somewhat tempted by epic touch but have zero trust that it will be supported well. i will not be surprised if epic touch will get ics sometime late spring. i will be sad if Prime will not be on sprint (before my early upgrade expires on 12/31)

*i do like the dual cdma/gsm option offered by i4s for travel (although the details are still a bit in the fog as to how exactly that will be implemented. can i just stick a local simcard and it will work no questions asked, or will it do "gsm roam only" and cost me an arm and a leg to make a phone call? )

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

ohh how i hate the iphone. the iphone was the worst thing to ever happen to the smartphone, they are the reason so many manufactures are creating so many devices without qwerty keyboards. SERIOUSLY! is it that damn difficult to make another/better epic? looks like i will have my epic a long time until another competent qwerty android device hits the market, and i am leaving sprint.

You, know the premier upgrade doesn't end this year, it's year after this so it ends on 12/31/2012!

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

The problems with fruit phone are as follows:

itunes

IOS is a cisco operating system, i don't care if you say iOS, call it what it is "mobile itunes".

the operating system ("mobile itunes"), well, ... IMHO.. sucks. I don't want to have to jail break my phone to have a picture of my kids as my home screen.

My treo had more functionality (although with smaller screen and worse camera) than the original and everyone is calling it the first smart phone.

did I mention itunes?

otherwise it's good hardware and a sleek looking device.

Sounds like a piece of rotten fruit to me... LOL

I keep waiting for the worm to pop out in one of those Fruit pics.

When the ET4G first came out on Sprint, I was about sure as hell as to the fact that I'd get one. Now with this Nexus Prime supposedly hitting all carriers at some point in the near future, I'm all but sold on the Nexus. In fact, from here on out, I will probably get Nexus phones. So Chebura, do what I'm planning on doing. If the Prime comes out on Sprint after 12/31, get the ET4G, then sell it later on to get the Prime. :D Unless you end up liking the ET4G. I bet it'll be the second half of the year before it gets ICS. If not LONGER.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

At this point, I'm going Nexus all the way. I love having my phone supported and updated a lot. Makes me feel I've made a good investment. I love the Epic 4g and was so close to jumping on the GSII till I realized updates will probably not be dragged as much as what happened to Epic. Learned my lesson.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

I am definitely jumping to the Nexus bandwagon. I loved my epic(galaxy s) when it first came out since i thought this was the best android phone to come out at that time, but because of terrible updates and lack of support from samsung, I will go to the Nexus line. Google really puts this product line above all the rest. I am actually looking to trade my epic for a nexus s assuming i can find someone who wants this phone.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

If I restore my GS to stock, how much can I get for it on eBay?

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

Depends Ted.... If you find the right person you can get $150 bucks for it... I've heard of it going to some people for that recently....

I guess that is one thing you can thank Sprint for, they are still keeping the price high on the Epic so its helping in the resale market....

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

We haven't seen a leaked build since EI21(knock on wood). Is that a postive sign or did they just give up?

I hope they didn't give up. It would really anger a lot of people who were waiting forever.

Since Samsung is the one making Nexus Prime "jumping to Nexus line" is not really a way to "show 'em". Samsung doesn't care wich one of their models you will buy from them.

I wouldn't say that.

It benefits a company for the consumer to purchase the most expensive model, and in many product lines, the most expensive product requires the most expensive replacement parts and services.

Entry level devices of EOL devices are for the consumer who can't afford premier products. So, given the option, the company would prefer that you buy the premier product.

Don't stay with the Epic -- it's old! Get something new and flashy; get the Prime!

I meant it doesn't make much difference to them if you will buy Epic Touch or Prime :-)

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

oh, man. After 58 pages I think we can loosen up the discussion a bit.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

I don't know...will it have "Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build?" If not, why ask on this post?

Eh, well there's nothing much going on this forum so I thought the people that have the same phone as me would have some kind of answer :p

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI21 latest build

What city are you guys in? I am in Phx, and I get ZERO bars and I can watch the signal bounce from zero to 4 bars within 2 seconds, makes no sense,

I cant stand Sprint service anymore, as soon as I get enough money to buy a new phone on another network and afford to pay to break my contract with Sprint, they are dropped like a used condom.

I have a business, I sit in metro phx and I get dropped calles, I will suddendly get a voicemail and the phone never rang. There are spots, guarenteed, you drive thru an intersection, the call will drop, you can bet your life on it.

I really dont know how Sprint is still in business.
