Android 4.3 w/ TRIM - need to do factory reset?

I've read a few articles that say in order to get TRIM to work properly after the 4.3 update that you should do a factory reset. Others don't say anything other than it works and seems to make the N7 (2012) run smoother and corrects lag problems. Yet other forum posts suggest it hasn't made any difference.

So, which is it - factory reset required/recommended or not? For obvious reasons, I'd rather not do a reset, and my N7 seems to be running better after 4.3, but that could just be wishful thinking as I have no data to support. FWIW I'm running Stock 4.3, unrooted, running Nova launcher, 16gig wi-fi only model.

So what did you do - reset or no - and do you think your performance has improved?

I have not done a factory reset on my 2012 N7 and trim has worked great and restored performance for me.

I did not do a factory reset and trim has run on my N7, confirmed in the logs. It did take a few days before I saw it, though. As for improvements, my 16GB N7 never displayed a lag, even after dropping below 2GB of available space, so I can't say that it visibly helped.
