Android 8.1 Beta - Major Battery Drain?

I have updated to the official version of 8.1 and the battery continues to drain at a high rate. Battery went from 100% to 58% in 7.5 hours.

My first thought is you should reboot the phone, and see if there is a particular app that is draining the battery. In my case, I last charged the phone 10 hours ago and with light use (since I slept during a few of those hours) I'm still at 83%.

I would agree with mogelijk about an app issue. Something in the background may be running wild.

I have very few apps on this phone and they are same apps I had while running 7.1.1. I had outstanding battery life on 7.1.1, but that hasn't been the case with either version of 8.1. I have the same apps plus a lot more on my Pixel XL running 8.1 and the battery doesn't drain the way it does on the PH-1. Can you recommend a non root battery monitoring app that can provide detailed info on usage? I am using GSam, but it doesn't tell me much. Worse case is that I do a factory reset and start from scratch. TIA

Try better battery stats. Don't need to be rooted if you use adb on computer for a few permissions.
