Android OS crashing related to power loss

[Android Central Question]

I have a Pine64 board(like raspberry pi) running a version of android 7, and it's only job is to run 2 programs for my car tuning stuff. The board and OS running of the SD card, I've added a battery pack to help stabilize the power to the board despite having it hardwired to a source designed for power consistency, but if there is a power fluctuation great enough it crashes and trashes the OS/SD card forcing me to wipe/partition/re-image the SD card to get it running again.

How can I stop this from crashing/trashing if there is a power fluctuation? My phone doesnt crash if the power does, help!!
