That's weird, I can see an obvious difference between boosted and natural. I mean, the difference is subtle between them but it's definitely noticable. If you look at the left side of the picture behind the bird when you change them you should see a change in the colors switching between them. Saturated is very big difference.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's so obvious now, don't know how I missed that before lol

Sounds like the implementation needs fixed not eliminating the functionality.

I like to change the volume depending on if I'm home, at work, outside, at a restaurant, etc. If the change is here for the time being, even a quick toggle between media and ring from the pop-up would make sense. No reason to have to go into settings for something this simple.

I think you're in the minority of people that constantly change ringer volume and that's why they've gone to controls changing media volume instead of ringer volume.

Maybe. Doesn't change the fact that something simple was made more difficult and can be fixed fairly easily.

Weather doesn't show up for me either, but it's on my wife's phone.
Weather isn't showing on the lockscreen for me. Not sure what's up with that, would be awesome if it would. I had a heck of a time getting this running. I had issues with the stable June update so I did a factory reset for the third time and signed up for the beta again. Could not get this to setup on wifi, would not let me go past the wifi screen, I could log in, but not move past it and I couldn't get it to forget the network. Was able to reboot into safe mode and get through it, reset again and just used mobile data for the initial setup and got through it.

The brightness is weird. Almost blinded me this morning but got really dark after that. Otherwise it seems pretty solid and is running fine. Going to give this a couple days and see how it goes.

I wish the weather actually showed up for me on the lock screen..... haven't seen it on dp2 or dp3

Man, my 2 XL took about a solid 15 minutes to install the OTA. I was biting my nails hoping it wouldn't bork.

On the plus side, though, my fps seems a lot snappier now. Ironic given the complaints I've read about the June O update. And I've finally got the weather icon on my lockscreen! Sweet.

Wait. I take some of that back. DP3 must've turned the AOD on. So much for an fps fix.

It took about the same amount of time on mine, not worried because it's probably due to the a/b structure of the file system.

Weird, I'm sure that will get figured out.

On another note, my battery life is significantly better. Huge Gaines in use time. I'm usually pushing under 60% by lunch just because of my usage buy I'm at 75% still.

Sideloaded the Essential Beta 1 (Essential calls the Google Beta 2 Beta 1 but the are the same with some fixes specific to the Essential PH-1).

Seems to be working well for me. I'm a little confused by the new card display of previously openned apps. I can't find a way to clear these. I hope they aren't running continuously in background.

Have you compared Google Feed settings with your wife? Maybe your weather notifications are off?

Or Pixel launcher Home settings At A Glance toggles.

Everyone just updating over DP2 or doing a fresh install?

I did a dirty update sideloading over 8.1. Data and apps seemed ok but it took a long time to reboot after the update. Subsequent restarts have been much faster.

It's backwards from the way it used to be - just swipe up on any app that you want to get rid of. If you swipe right to get to the far end of the carousel you can use the 'Clear all' control to nuke them all at once (just added in the latest build).

They go with what the majority use it for. Sucks for those that like the old way but they can't program every little aspect to cover every base. It would get out of control if they attempted that.

I really like the gestures with Android P but I don't understand why they've kept the back button still this long. why haven't they implemented a left swipe from the home pill to go back in apps? the back button looks awkward in apps as well. is it a technical limitation that won't allow the swipe to go back? can't understand the decision not implement the swipe to go back.

They might get rid of it -- they might not. Remembers this is still beta so anything can change.

I was just about to ask if anyone is seeing significant battery life.

I am noticing nothing new on battery. Seems the same to me but I am super hard on phones so hard to truly judge.

I am too, I can never get through a day on a charge but I might be able to. Though with my battery OCD I may just charge it anyway. I have a couple hours of driving and need gps tonight so I'll charge while I drive probably

Anyone know how to get the weather enabled on the Always On Display. I saw a YT video stating that one of the new gestures but I can't find an option to turn it on.

EDIT: just read earlier comments of others not seeing it either.
