Android Q Beta Bugs Discussion

Has anyone here had the issue with Android Auto where you plug your Pixel 3 with Android Q NBA USB into your Android auto compatible car, enjoy the auto launchers normally, but when you click on Google maps or play music or any other application, it gets very laggy and then enjoy auto crashes completely? This also forces The phone to crash and reboot... any feedback appreciate it. The issue for me is random at best unfortunately I've also reported to the app section of Android Q beta issue tracker.. thanks so much.

I've had the beta now for about a week and here are the issues that I have ran across:
1) Starbucks app opens and immediately closes
2) Pharmacy app (The supermarket Publix's pharmacy app): Opens but then says that "This application requires 5.0 and higher"
3) Firefox doesn't work at all. It's similar to the Starbucks app. It attempts to open but then immediately closes.

A lot of apps haven't been updated to work on Q yet. For Firefox, install Firefox Nightly, As of the 2 Apr nightly, it works in Q. (I don't use the Starbucks or Publix apps, but if the Starbucks app closes a few times, you should get a popup that lets you send them feedback. For Publix, you can probably email them at the address on their Play page.)

I'm hoping my pigs are living crash again from my manually reenabling dark mode last night again. if it does I'll just have to keep on manually re-enabling dark mode until the second stage of the beta program is released.

Okay so things I've noticed with Android humidity so far: Google voice typing is much more stable and accurate. So far (Knock on wood) My dark mode theme seems to be more stable, the OS in general seems to be more stable. Just your navigations are smoother.

Who here has has gone through ADB debugging and enabling the bubble notifications for messages though? I've been reading on 9 to 5 Google about it and some people are doing it some people are not doing it.

Not sure if these are bugs or merely "Q" charateristics but when taking a photo the thumbnail that is shown down at the lower right of the camera app causes a crash if you press it to enlarge. I'm guessing bug because one needs to go to the file app to get it for sending, so more time consuming. Also, pictures taken do not go to the photo app for storing but to the files where they can be accessed.
When I share a pic I used to do it via the message app but now it seems it defaults to google photos app and if I want to still share using the message app it is doable but takes another step. Not a big deal once used to it. (pixel2)
EDIT: One more thing I noticed is my battery life has definitely taken a big hit. The app power usages listed don't add up to anything close to 100% so guessing system usage has really increased. Hopefully will straighten itself out.

Oh my God, thank you so much for telling me about the files application as to where shots with the camera are stored now! I went into the photos app and the pictures I took weren't there! I thought that there was a major glitch or bug with my phone!

The files app that wasn't working was updated a short while ago and is working now. It's the larger of the two files apps.

Google Photos is broken with beta 2. Not displaying any new pictures taken. When I try and open a photo I've just taken through the camera app it opens Google Photos and the photo isn't there.

Yop, I know! Hope Google gets on this big time. all I do is go into the files app, see all my recently taken pictures, and then you got to start manually uploading one by one back to Google photos. It's an extra step basically.

got it, thanks. However, when I downloaded the app put on my phone allowed access for media, it's not showing me my pictures.

Here's what I still can't figure out about my pixel 3XL on Android Q beta 2. Most of my phone works absolutely fine, Android auto on my phone works fine the second I connect my phone via USB to my 2018 Accord sport 2.0T and launch Android Auto It freezes and trashes and instantaneously crashed my phone and my phone has to be rebooted. I'm unable to provide a bug log because my phone is frozen I have no use out of it when it's crashed. I have to present all the power button for a good minute or so until it reboots itself. I reported to the Android Q beta issues tracker and Google says oh if I can provide a book report that would be great I told them I can't I was hoping someone either experiences before, or had some type of a suggestion. Thanks in advance for any help.

Oh no! That's not good.

I am using simple gallery and it works on my phone. I can see everything and move them around. Here is that app

I chose Memoria as it is a lovely app. But this one is very functional. Hope this one works

Well, thanks for the suggestion. I just try downloading that app took a test picture and didn't work again. Then test it to see if that picture showed up in the files app and it does. So as long as I can access my pictures I'm cool with that until Google fixes Google photos which they better do soon haha.

From another post there is a solution. Reenable permissions for photos and videos in the Google photos and camera apps.

Apps are crashing badly . Not only a single application but couple of applications. PubG aswell. Amazon music.

I got a new Panda 2XL today and set it up on Android Q. I am having issues with my photos on this phone. I was ok with my last phone. Photos are showing up in the photos app but can't be uploaded to other apps, except for screenshots in WhatsApp. I can't upload to Android Central Forums for instance. Not a deal breaker for me though.
