Android Q or 10 official release. You get it yet?

Still waiting here. Wonder if this one will take 2 weeks like the July update did for me.

Same here. Feel like I'm being punished for mashing the Check for update button. ;-P 2XL was offered the update immeditly but nothing for the 3XL.

I got mine pushed to me yesterday afternoon on my Pixel XL.
So far, no issues. It defaulted to the legacy 3-button mode, so I manually switched to gestures to try it out. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

I'm sure you were just being sarcastic, but in 1992 we were ALL using "Dark Mode" - it was called either DOS or UNIX on terminals with black backgrounds and white, amber or green text.

I guess I'm just not "cool" anymore - I don't get the point of Dark Mode. All the UX info I've read says that dark text on light backgrounds (positive polarity) is more readable and leads to better comprehension. Studies have shown people are less productive with negative polarity.

However, if cool people using Dark Mode means I'm less likely to see their screens in dark location like movie theaters, then more power to them!

I got a chuckle out of this. Yes, back in the day, white (or amber or green) text on a black background was the norm, and it was "cool" to have a "page white" display"

Back to the future I guess!

I own a Google store bought Pixel and still no update for me. I'm not feeling very privileged here! Come on Google! :P

Have you tried enrolling in the Beta? https://www.google.com/android/beta

I wasn't getting it just from the update button, enrolled in the beta and got it immediately. As long as you enroll once the stable release comes out, that's the version you get, and can unenroll without it reverting back to an older build. And you'll want to unenroll in order to get your regular security updates.

I'm tempted to do it. I own the Pixel 3 and keep mashing the check for update button but no luck. I just assumed all Pixel phones got it on the first day particularly when purchased through Google. Maybe I could be a bit more patient!

Settings/System/Advanced/Developer Options....there's a toggle at the top to turn them off.

Ahh, didn't realize you meant dev options had to be completely turned off. I'll live with the persistent notification.

i wasn't getting my update at all using a unlocked p3xl on tmobile. I opted in to the beta, checked for an update and bam there it was. As soon at it was starting to download i opted out.

When I load Nova, Android 10 says I cannot use gestures because Nova is incompatible.

Was specifically referring to your question about the removing the search bar. But while Nova may not support the native gesture functions, it has quite a few gesture options built-in already.

Depends what you're using them for and how much you dislike the build number being shown. I changed my icon shapes and theme colors and then turned dev options back off...it doesn't take away those changes.

Weird, mine took away all my changes when I turned off dev options. The theme colors and animations were all reset to default. I'll get over it, at least it's not in the notification bar.

Yes, I installed it yesterday. There's a bunch of new things we already anticipated from the betas, but the most important things for me are things that never worked on my 3XL but do now. I have been disappointed with the phone because of features that were supposed to be there but didn't work. So far I've found three things that now finally work: Smart Lock, notifications on lock screen, and double tap. After updating to 10 and not making any other changes, these things now work. It's making be feel much better about having this phone. Now I no longer feel I should have updated to another Samsung.
BTW I like the gestures. They are very easy to get used to and make for smoother operation, since you don't have to zero in on something to tap.

You can now show the battery % all the time in the status bar if you want - system, battery, battery percentage.

I ended up not having any patience and opted to enroll in the beta to get the update. Installing now and then opting out of beta.

Strange.. I don't have the build number showing on the notification panel as you've highlighted.
I have it. I do not get why they put it there. It's an eye sore that, in the past, was rightly reserved for the deep recesses of the settings menu.
