I'm sure you were just being sarcastic, but in 1992 we were ALL using "Dark Mode" - it was called either DOS or UNIX on terminals with black backgrounds and white, amber or green text.
I guess I'm just not "cool" anymore - I don't get the point of Dark Mode. All the UX info I've read says that dark text on light backgrounds (positive polarity) is more readable and leads to better comprehension. Studies have shown people are less productive with negative polarity.
However, if cool people using Dark Mode means I'm less likely to see their screens in dark location like movie theaters, then more power to them!
