Android Q public beta has launched

I'll be installing it once I get home.hoelefully it fixes not being able to update my apps.

I haven't had issues with updating apps. Were you apps not updating at all or were they just not doing it automatically?

Not updating at all .im upto 24 apps that need updating at the moment.if you scroll up in this thread there are a few others who are having the same problem.

Looks like you don't have a cellular connection. Is that normal?
If you just put the phone in Airplane mode does it make a difference?
What about Safe mode?

Just installed Beta 3 on my 2 XL and loving the new full gesture controls and improved native dark theme.

Not gonna lie, I keep reaching for the back button but quickly getting used to swiping left/right to go back. Liking the full gesture controls so far!

Yes me too. Hopefully the muscle memory should kick in soon.

I've been so used to full gestures with my Galaxy Devices and iPhone that going back to the Pixel always felt like a step backwards. Now it's definitely a device I can use more.

I'm thinking is signing up to beta 3. I've question about signing up. On the beta sign-up page there is an option to receive program updates. It's this for general update information or receiving the update of each beta? Are people opting in for this?

Maybe a little additional battery usage, but not much of anything else. I like it.

Not all banking applications are affected - the two I commonly use work fine:

My battery life is better on Q than on Pie. One banking app won't let me use fingerprint login but they all work (UK banks NatWest and Nationwide and B)

Amex works and most credit card apps as well.

Beta 3 stops background apps from triggering a foreground action. For instance I use Medisafe and it normally overlays a screen with all my meds to remind me to take them. This has stopped and I get a notification drop down instead that I have to click to activate the medication screen. A bit of a hassle but I still get a reminder.

Beta 3 much better. Switched to gestures. Battery much, much better. Dark theme is nice. I like Q

Just updated to beta 3. Looking good so far except camera transition glitches moving from portrait to landscape and vice versa.

I'm not seeing any glitches when rotating the phone (Pixel 2 XL) between portrait and landscape and back. Does this happen in Safe mode? Perhaps some 3rd party application is causing the problem.
