Android System - Battery issues!

Nope, still draining fast, android system using more battery that the screen. Great, this means it was probably the day 1 update causing this which means now I'll have to wait on at&t for an update.
Nah, because I'm on AT&T and was having the issue until yesterday. Last night I was around 5 hours of SoT with 15% left. Previous day was about 2 hours.

So far my android system has never gone above 3% and only hit 3% yesterday. Most of the time mine sits at 1 and 2%.

Much better day yesterday. I ended up with Android System at 6%, The day before it was 20%. Looks like one of the updates yesterday fixed the issue. Frustrating, but glad it got better. Hope everyone else here gets some improvement today.

One of the updates? I haven't recieved any update, and just checked manually too.

sorry, was referring to the app updates in Play Store....or galaxy store. One or more of those a few days ago caused Android System to go crazy. At least that is my working theory.

Android system has been at the top more often than not for 3 Samsung phones for me.

Yeah, yesterday android system was at 36%!! More than the screen which was at 28%! I’m still getting ok battery life, but I’m really hoping for an update from AT&T soon.

I see this happening after I configured digital wellbeing scheduled grey screen on my unlocked. Not sure if this is coincidence.

So, I was able yo do a wipe and install my apps from scratch. First day wasn't as good as the very first day I had my Note10+, and Android System is about to pass my SOT % (30%) with 24% battery usage. It definitely has to be something from AT&T.

Should we start a thread/Poll for AT&T users with this issue to try and get the carrier to know about this issue? What can we do to try to press AT&T (if it is AT&T) to look into this and update it?

Yup, same thing has been happening to me, even after factory resets and not installing any of my apps other than the essentials. It seems like a problem with the day one update, and only seems to be happening with AT&T.

I haven't done a full day test yet without charging in-between since I'll just keep it on a wireless charger. It has become a habit over the last few years

May be today I'll remind myself not to do that. Currently at 75% and looking good for the rest of the day. I'll be going out so will be using some navigation and bluetooth streaming but have to remind myself not to plug in the car charger.
I'm myself curious to see how much battery will be left before I go to bed
Unlocked version on Verizon.

I'm so happy I found this thread! I am experiencing the same thing on my ATT Note 10+. I posted over on XDA but think there will be more traction here. I will copy my post from there to here.

I've had my AT&T Note 10 plus for over a week now, and for the first week the battery life was stellar. Three days ago seemingly out of nowhere, battery life had tanked. Some context - I came from a Note 9 which had fantastic battery life. Location on, widgets, notifications, etc were enabled. I feel I shouldn't have to yield to or cripple my phone to get decent battery life from it so I refuse to do that on a device that costs this much. It should just work.

Anyway, fast-forward to three days ago with my note 10+ - same settings and everything as my previous note 9 - and out of nowhere the battery life just starts to tank. Android System is seems to be the drain, but I'm not sure what in there is causing it. The phone is constantly warm. As an experiment, I've put it on airplane mode now with wifi still on and the phone has cooled down but I'm not sure yet if the battery is being drained less or not as it's only been a few minutes. But, I am losing about 6% battery/hr not even using the phone. That is rather unacceptable after it having worked just fine the first several days I've had it. I refuse to disable location and do other seemingly band-aid tricks to help the battery along as I don't feel that really solves the issue and should be unnecessary for a device that costs this much money. I also refuse to factory reset unless I ABSOLUTELY have to because these phones are a pain in the rear to setup, even with Samsung/Google's restore. So many settings to go in and manipulate.

I hope this resolves itself or I can get to the bottom of it somehow. I really love this phone and really don't want to go back to my iPhone XS Max over a battery issue but it is just unacceptable for the battery to drain like this with little to no actual use of the phone. The other night by the time I had placed it on the charger, android system was up over 30%...

is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I apologize if this has been discussed before - I couldn't find anything similar.

EDIT
After putting the phone in airplane mode (wifi left on), it has cooled down and battery drain seems to have improved. According to the battery graph it looks like the phone is also finally going to sleep. Previously the graph went straight down to the right with no flat spots.

What could this be? My cell reception hasn't changed and I'm at wit's end.

Sorry for the long-winded post. I am glad to hear some of you think the issue is on ATT's end because I believe the same thing also.Screenshot_20190901-153301_Settings.jpg

A factory reset doesnt help, I've done it a couple of times and am seeing the same problem. Since your seeing improvement in airplane mode, maybe it has to do with cellular settings?

I figured, and it's something i absolutely will not do unless i absolutely have to. I've reset network settings and worked my way back through them, as well as wiping the cache partition, which in the past has done nothing but figured it would be worth a shot.

I'm thinking maybe it's something to do with the phone's connection to the cell tower???

Cellular uses a lot of power anyways, and on any phone putting it in airplane mode will be a big difference in battery life. That isn't the issue.
