Android System - Battery issues!

For your phone.
Yep exactly, I have seen 20 or above easily on many of my phones. It all depends on various different on now the phone is used, what's all is installed, network conditions and god knows what other factors. Chasing android system usage based on someone else's stat isn't going to lead anywhere IMO.

A clean reset phone and people are getting 30%. That is not normal and it's happening with many on here. What we know it's related to AT&T.

Exactly. Seems pretty arrogant to assume your situation applies to everyone.

Just because it was high for you and you seen it on other devices does not make it normal. So don't try to tell people it's normal to have 30% of Android System because it's what you seen on previous phones, because it's not.

If you are replying to me, I never said it was normal. Only spoke to...wait for it...my experience, and it's been one of the few things I've found annoying after switching over to Samsung.

You said it has been that way on the s7, and so on. Maybe for you, doesn't make it right with the issue everyone is having right now. That 30% is killing my phone requiring me to charge it mid day now, and its aggravating.

You may want to reread my post, as I said "my S7, S8, and Note 9". And for me, it has led to my battery life not being as good as others have reported across all three of MY phones. I never made a claim for it being the norm for the phones in general, but I have seen others report having similar issues.

The problem is we don't know what all Android system is actually doing. Is it reporting if you don't do anything for an hour but still being used for network connection and other system tasks in the background? Again I can't speak for others but I have seen it show up on all my phones. But if you say it shouldn't be 30% or something like that, may be I don't know. One thing for sure that this Android system battery drain comes up with every Android phone forum. Just a quick Google search reveals multiple complaints about the same on pretty much every phone.

Anyway, hopefully you guys can find a solution or explanation.

Great looks like I'm in the same boat now. Almost two week later .

Update: so yesterday I did my 4th factory reset, except after I did a normal reset I booted into recovery mode, cleared the cache, and did another wipe. Not sure if that's what did it, but it has improved greatly. Before Android System was always ahead of screen usage, by the end of the day screen was at 20-something percent and android system was around 30. Right now, even though android system is still second, it's more online with everything else and far below screen. It also really helped as last night I let my phone idle and battery only went down 1% after an hour, before it would go down 5-10%.

That's awesome news! I haven't done a reset yet...hoping i don't have to because today mine as well is seemingly back to normal?? The only thing I changed was disabling wifi calling. I will enable it later in the day to see if the drain comes back, or if this is al purely coincidental. I will also post a screenshot of my battery usage screen later after i've used my phone a bit more, but so far android system is at 2% and my phone seems normal.

For sure!

Wow, that looks fantastic. I'm curious...as an experiment i've disabled wifi calling to see if that might have an effect. I see you don't have wifi calling on since you have the UL version anyway. Let's see what happens
Thanks! Yeah no wifi calling att unlocked, but I got way better battery stats with tmobile and wifi calling on it.

Hmmm... maybe it was all on at&t's end? I did factory resets before and they didn't help, so maybe it was just a coincidence?

how do we clear cache on the Note10, and how do we boot to recovery mode on the Note10? I tried it a few times before my first factory reset, and it wasn't going into recovery mode and I couldn't find how to clear system cache.

With the phone off, press and hold the power button and the volume up button (or is it volume down?) until the Samsung logo appears, then let go. It'll boot up into the menu where you can then wipe your cache. Doing that didn't do anything for me but it might for you!
