Android System - Battery issues!

I don't see a reduction in battery performance. Still good over here. Had it since the 21st.

The difference today is remarkable. Not sure if disabling WiFi calling was the key. Will enable it tomorrow and see if it makes a difference only because I'm curious.

So, I tried to see how today would go once I saw to try turning off wifi calling...its not any better and from a full charge too. Its actually worse for me. The only "improvement" is that SOT was finally actually more usage than Android System, but what's worse is that my battery barely got through half a day. And Android System is not to far behind in % used. SOT is actually pretty impressive, and I even streamed about 30 minutes on netflix, and it's not even showing on the list. But for not even getting into tomorrow, not even for double digit hours off the charger, is really disappointing.

This is just really disappointing.
Yeah, screen on time isnt the problem, its idle battery usage. I'm seeing the same, turning off wifi calling did improve things for me, but android system is still slightly behind screen in battery usage, but it's better than before when it was always top at over 30%

I think it might be something with WiFi in general. I turned off WiFi calling yesterday, but still ran the day on WiFi, and saw no real improvement, especially for battery life. I typically need WiFi calling in my house as it's not a great area for reception, even if I go outside into the yard, reception is marginally better.

But in efforts to reduce my need to throw it on the charger so often, last night before bed, I again, put it into max power save and I got through roughly 6/7 hours only using about 2% battery. As soon as I switch back to Optimize and turned the WiFi (not WiFi calling) back on, Android System was a step above SOT.

Should I be considering a return/exchange for a new device? The 5th makes it 14 days since I got my device, so I'd need to get in without consequence by then.

I really have no idea what's going on with this phone.

The first few days were amazing. But then I've never been close to anything like the first 2 or 3 days.

This is today, a lighter day than most busy days. I didnt use WiFi for a good majority of the day.

The small gap in power was when I tried to test in safe mode. Not enough to get a good reading, but overall not good at all.

Yup. Not a great day either. It is better than it was with Android System in the 20's. But this is ridiculous battery life for a phone in 2019

I'm also curious how many of us having this issue are also using the same SIM from their last device?

yikes... that is bad. Sorry :(. That's what mine looked like for a few days and out of nowhere it was better yesterday. Not sure if it was something I did or not. It's hard to tell and that's what's most frustrating to me.

That's not terrible but I think it could be better. What's most concerning to me is the fact that your SoT is so short but the graph is quite steep. Who knows. it is frustrating for sure.

The inconsistency is really unacceptable, regardless of whose end the problem is on. It's just not acceptable and no one should have to settle. ****!

just sharing my experience today - another good day, just like yesterday was. I even turned wifi calling back on to see if it would cause a drain, but alas...it didn't. now i'm utterly confused as to what caused the battery drain :). was it a random, isolated, phone-related issue? an ATT-related issue? who knows! on the one hand, i'm glad the issue seemingly resolved itself (???). on the other, it's frustrating not know what could have caused it so that it may be prevented in the future. oh, well...

Didn't go through the whole thread but are people changing their versions of android system to fix the battery issues.
